Midsummer snow in Australia last night. A reminder that snow is disappearing from our lives – as Dr. David Viner so eloquently stated in 2000.
The first Sahara snowfalls since 1979 serve as a stark reminder of how life used to be at lower CO2 levels.

January snow cover has been above normal for nine of the last ten years, due to Arctic air encroaching further south than it used to.

For the whole year, snow cover bottomed out 30 years ago, and in recent years has been very close to the 50 year mean.

Declining snow cover, like all other government claims about imaginary climate change, is nothing but fake news.
Much of Australia just had a heatwave with high temperatures, but weather changes … all the time.
Mount Hotham sees its first snowfall for the year

“I would imagine that we will have a decent snowfall around about Easter as we normally do, but this is a month early on the Easter and Anzac Day of the March and April snowfall, which normally is the first fall for the year.”
Here’s an excellent article showing how predictions of arctic sea ice decline from 1979 has been confirmed by actual observations:

Hahahaha! … that’s funny!
Hey Griff, tell me something. What would happen if ALL of the ice in the Arctic melted? … what would be the effect?
Arguments like these undermine skeptics.
Starting in 1979 – is carefully cherry-picked fraud

How is this “excellent article” helping to save 21,000 people today? Is the author donating his salary to feed the starving? Or is this article meant to whip up more alarm about meaningless ice, and thus take food from the mouths of those at risk today?
I know what smart and good people say…

One of the major problems with CAGW predictions is that there are just to darn many of them. One model says one thing, a second model says something else, a third model disagrees, and so on. CAGW predictions are like a horse race with a hundred people all making differing bets on the outcome. Every time one or two people get it right, the headlines says that “global warming is confirmed!” Bull hockey! Often, even the ones who made bad predictions will speak up and claim that “we did not make a prediction… it was a “scenario!””.
CAGW is not science, it is an exercise in cherry picking and post hoc claims.
Griff,
The Polar Challenge certainly could have used your optimism last year when they hit the Laptev Sea. Have you signed up for the next expedition?
Griff,
As usual the dishonest 1979 starting point…….
I predict that within 15 minutes of opening that article I will find something highly inaccurate or something which involves dishonesty, fraud or deception.
It didn’t take very long, nor did I have to go very far in the article. The caption of the photo of the fishing vessel is, “Arctic sea ice has reached record lows this winter around Greenland and elsewhere, following the predictions of remarkably accurate models based on global warming.”
One would be led to believe this photo was taken this winter. In fact, it was taken long ago and used in 2014 by Huffington post, about 1/2 down in this article. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/12/03/arctic-climate-change_n_6261590.html
In fact, the fishing boat photo was from July 20, 2013. Not this winter, not even winter and in fact in the middle of the summer. The deception of those promoting AGW is astounding.
You have to understand:
Ms Griff doesn’t read these articles, she just posts them. Besides, she’s busy planning her mission to Iran.
I bet she looks good in a burka.
I thought I had fixed that.
The first Sahara snowfalls since 1979……..
I’m just surprised it doesn’t snow more often.
…that’s like Georgia
Just remember that if it snows more, that was predicted and is consistent with CAGW. If it snows less, that was predicted and is consistent with CAGW. If it snows less one year and more the next — yup, you guessed! — that was predicted and is consistent with CAGW as well!
The whole problem is not enough climate scientists and not enough money.
We must have faith and believe that IPCC, whose predictions are above criticism, will come up with evidence of whatever they wish to demonstrate.
