When did they start calling forest fires “Wild Fires”? And what does a forest fire have to do with “Climate Change”? Aren’t today’s bad fires really an artifact of poor forest management that creating an environment where underbrush doesn’t regularly burn to the point that when it does it’s catastrophic?
It’s grass fires, too, not just forest fires.
And yes, wildfires got worse because of accumulated fuel on the ground that didn’t burn off since smaller fires continue to be successfully suppressed.
In the end, under “favorable” conditions a fire becomes too hot and too fast to be brought under control.
That’s when “progressive” morons tell us it burned because of climate change.
Grass fires, yes….
Big fires around here (So. Calif.) are essentially caused by EXTRA RAIN in the Spring, which causes grass and canyon brush to go crazy, and that’s how we get big, multi-acreage fires later in the year.
This is what we have NOW, after a very wet – and welcome – rainy season.
Just one year and we have the 30 year anniversary.
30 years of BS ,lies and wrong prediction
and
the scientifical proove that many scientist are so corrupt
that they will never ever reach the point to feel ashamed
as long as they can pull that way money out of your pockets.
the other thing that is 3 decades (and a bit older) is madonnas singing career.
Both have in common that they are products of the 80ies,
completely incompetent but succesfull in terrorising the whole planet
never ever produced a thing a value
and should be buried as soon as possible.
I believe the “roots” go back further, to the 1975 Endangered Atmosphere Conference at Research Triangle Park in North Carolina. It’s documented here: http://www.21stcenturysciencetech.com/Articles%202007/GWHoaxBorn.pdf
They laid out the strategy that has been followed ever since: “What we need from scientists are estimates, presented with sufficient conservatism and plausibility but at the same time a free as possible from internal disagreements that can be exploited by politicians, that will allow us to start building a system of artificial but effective warnings, warnings which will parallel the instincts of animals who flee before the hurricane, pile up a larger store of nuts before a severe winter, or of caterpillars who respond to impeding climatic change by growing thicker coats[sic].”
We see the call for “consensus”.
We see the admission of the political underpinnings, not science.
We see the scare meme.
We see the acknowledgment that the warnings are “artificial”.
They have followed this strategy to a tee. As reality has shown their warnings to be wrong, they have moved from “conservative and plausible” to ever more extreme and alarmist in attempt to scare people.
Perhaps this is Part 0.
Blockbuster video, Tony, Thanks! Now lets send it out.
I noticed you likened this to “Biblical fears”…
This is right at the same time that Hal Lindsay was predicting the end of the World. ‘The Late Great Planet Earth’ claimed that increased storms and earthquakes heralded the End Times.
Hurricane Gilbert. Was in Cozumel, MX when it hit. Damn. Dead center – the little tiny eye, with a double eye wall, went right over us . . after hours of 160-180ish sustained mph winds.
When this shot was taken, give or take a couple minutes, we were outside thinking it was over. It was late morning – gale force winds had begun 10-11 hours earlier – and had no details as to the exact track of the eye. We were in the south side of the eye wall – could not see the sky – just light in the gray. Could still hear the wind to our south. Just as it dawned on me that we might be in the eye – there it was. Had about 10 blocks to sprint – winds were screaming as we got back to our room. Opening, closing, door was almost impossible.
What an experience. Got an extra week of ‘vacation’ (and warm beer) as everything was shut down – airport closed, etc.
Hansen’s predictions for future temperature in 1988 (and 1986) were even worse. It amazes me that people don’t go back and show this comparison over and over. It should instantly:
1. Debunk ANY of the crazy year 2100 predictions currently being made (since they are on the same slope/magnitude/departure from trend) and,
2. End the argument.
If I had a debate on this subject and could bring only one graphic, it would be this one. This and Hansen IS the smoking gun for this scientific theory.
Every/any hearing in Congress should begin with this chart…”30 years ago we were told to expect huge departures in temperature from the so-called “greenhouse effect”. We were told to act…or else. We did not act and none of this came true. These type of predictions and this particular scientific theory is NOT REAL (reminds one of the Russia hysteria at this point, only longer). If your theory and resulting predictions (in this case by wild margins) don’t match REALITY, the theory is wrong…pursuing the theory further is NOT REAL.
It doesn’t matter at that point if your called names, 97% of anybody believes it, moss in Canada is growing faster, Walrus hump less often, Glaciers melt, advance, form a union…the debate about this theory both scientifically and politically is over. Any new predictions are pointless. We’ve run the experiment…done.
The only difference is there is a reason watch Russia with care. It has taken eastern Ukraine and has no intent to withdraw. It is continuosly disturbing both civil and military aeroplanes with close shaves and near misses all around its borders. It violates foreign aerospace at continuos pace. It seeks conflict, it tries to hide internal problems with aggressive international politics.
Russia is not a toy or a pet. It has one of the strongest living rulers of the time. Russia is a poor country, but it has a lot of population and a large army.
Yes that’s all true. But many Americans believe that Russia isn’t our biggest danger right now. In some respects Russia is our ally, or at least could be.
If you’ve read any Russian history, particularly from Russian sources, you’d know that there isn’t a whole lot of difference between the peoples and their languages (essentially, Ukrainian and Russian have common roots). The issue is Crimea and Russia has a strategic problem if she does not have warm water ports. There’s been a whole lot of crap done by both sides for decades and it does not help that folk like George Soros have muddied the water with their dirty and bloody hands.
Russia is not our enemy right now (to the USA). Russia is a ‘frenemy’ at worst and could be a valuable ally, at best. On this issue, Trump’s far better than Her Majesty the Hildebeest.
True, the first “Russian” state in history is the Kievan Rus’ and ordinary Russians consider Ukraine and Belarus parts of Russia.
They consider many other non-Slavic peoples’ lands to be parts of Russia, too, but that’s a different story that has to do with the empire built by the House of Romanov and its Soviet heirs.
Stop global prancersizing now.
