December is the big month for Antarctic sea ice loss (averaging 6,530,271 km.sq. loss) and this month has been third lowest on record (so far) at 5,026,875.
It was actually less than three sigma deviation from the mean.
Four sigma deviations are common with weather.
How stupid do these people think the public is? Or how dense and incompetent are both the oceanographer and the reporter quoting him?
Earth is only 4.5 billion years old as a start…. duh…
And Antarctica was ice free around 35-45 million years ago!

Sigma based on a few years of data may not be very representative. Clearly his data set began after 2005, Otherwise he has two five sigma events, which sounds very iffy. I think a lot of these climate scientists have mediocre firepower and jump on the climate change bandwagon because it is safe there, and they hope to bolster their reputations by standing within the main tent of the religion.
Simply placing the 1979 map next to the 2023 map, and comparing the open coast and lack of ice in the Weddell Sea in 1979 with the solid sea-ice this year, should alert any thinking person to the limp logic Dr. Doddridge is expounding. However ABC is not aiming to educate anyone. It hopes people don’t think. It is just repeating propaganda which has already been shot down in flames so many times by thinking people that it hardly gets more than a “Ho Hum” from the general public. ABC has lost credibility and now even dignity. So has Dr. Doddridge. It is really pitiful.
The stuff about billions of years just heaps further absurdity onto the absurd. To a certain degree I think the people involved are past feeling any shame. How proud can Dr. Doddridge be when he likely knows that a large majority of the public doesn’t think what he talks about is important, and also that a large majority feel ABC is not trustworthy? Sometimes I think Alarmists are simply going through the motions, without any true belief.
It still is important to call them out on their limp logic. It is easy enough to do, and is likely why they are avoiding debate more than ever before.

I’m old enough to remember when it was record Antarctic ice just a few years ago and the war it’s were completely silent on the matter. I was gobsmacked.
