On the one hand natural variability is wide enough to drive a large snow plough through, but on the other it is narrow enough that we can say that we’re already warmer than we should be and this supports AGW?
“But it used to be.”
The Economist used to be a reputable magazine.
If what they are saying is true, it just might relect increased unbanization and the good old heat island effect. I wonder if stations in rural areas are also fitting this pattern. Also, I’m wondering if the data is being “messaged” in some form. I don’t trust anything the media has to say about the subject.
The snow is creating some beautiful pictures.
What is the effect that pressure and wind have on temperature that can account for 2.7 C? I was in a hurricane in Bermuda, Dean, back in 1992 and pressure was 29.43 and the temperature was around 75 F. I was in a Michigan snow storm with the pressure at 29.43 and the temperature was around 15 F. The hurricane did have higher wind speed.
Warm stuff moves faster than cold stuff. Try pouring honey that is 12F! đŸ˜‰
“Recent research suggests that warming may have alleviated recent freezes”
Ah, so it is warming but the warmth is being deceptively masked by the cooling!
