Very disappointing about Bill Cosby. I thought he was above it all.
Yes daveb, the greater the pile of earthly recognition and material, the harder it is to stay on the high road.
I recognize Bill, but not the other.
O J Simpson.
OJ Simpson retired American football player, confected felon who was thought to have killed his wife (DNA evidence) but got off because he was a football hero.

He got off because of racism Gail.
Football hero just like Jerry Sandusky
So you think he would have been acquitted if he was white? I sure don’t.
Allow me to revise and extend my comment. Because he was a black Icon as a legendary running back, his trial was colored by the race issue. In the end though, the reason why OJ walked, was because of his skin color.
Yeps..
1. The jury was primarily black women, who don’t approve of a white woman taking a black man for a husband, so they were against Nicole.
2. When judge Ito called Simpson’s name, Cochran asked “Which Orenthal James Simpson are you referring to?” – asking whether Ito was referring to the flesh and blood man, or the strawman. In that (statutory) court, only the strawman could be used. Cochran then ran the case based upon the live man.
Waiting for a progressive troll to drive by and scream … “RACIST” …
In 3 … 2 … 1 …
The sad part is these guys should have served as role models for black children. Too bad they had feet of clay. And now we have Obama ….
Somewhere on the intertubes is a documentary by a PI that took on the OJ case. I found his work rather convincing. The jist of it is that OJ’s son committed the murders and OJ did the coverup and took the rap.
As to Bill Cosby I don’t know. Never paid attention to it but it’s odd that this started happening when Cosby became more vocal against those things which team D politics relies upon. Not when he was a very big name and still working, no, after he’s retired and making commentary on society. That doesn’t make sense unless it’s a ploy so people don’t listen to him.
Hey B, you may be on to something about Cosby. He has certainly been more than a bit blunt about the root causes of current problems in the black community. It would not be the first time that someone was demonized by false accusations as a way to shut him up.
I agree, these are old charges, activated by progressives. (They may be legitimate, but selective prosecution by hypocrites (most of them are, including the hollyweird perverts) is simply evil.
I am not totally convinced that these women are telling the truth. Why now? I agree with B, it might be political.
Brad, there are something like 15 accusers. I don’t believe they’re all just making it up.
Shades of Herman Cain
Not really. Herman Cain was accused of sexual harassment, making women feel uncomfortable. Cosby is accused of forcible rape, of many of different women. That’s a big difference.
It isn’t odd, it’s in the Democrat play book. Do you remember what the they did to Clarence Thomas when he was nominated for Supreme Court Justice?
I do indeed.
It certainly is in the Democrat play book
. You can usually find some woman in a guys past who doesn’t like him and is willing to lie for $$$. Also it is the easiest accusation to make and the hardest to prove. Best of all it only works on Republicans and you can count on the Progressive MSM to broadcast it loudly in the case of a Republican or bury it if it is a Democrat like the Kennedys or Clinton.
Yes, you might be able to find one, or even two. But not fifteen of them.
What happened to Cosby?
Old accusations of sexual impropriety.
More than a dozen accusations of sexual assaults, many of them rape.
Very similar to Bill Clinton.
Reverend Al Sharpton should also be pictured based on his ongoing tax evasion problems.
Funny we want to take down Bill Crosby for an old sexual impropriety, yet the President that had a string of sexual improprieties is a hero to the left. Oh I forgot that Bill supported the right (ie Leftist) causes, so he had to be innocent or forgiven.
Cosby not Crosby
Unfortunately, it wasn’t just “an old sexual impropriety” (singular). It is numerous accusations, mostly of rape, from over a dozen accusers.
I don’t think that this many accusers could all be gold-digging liars.
However, it’s not very similar to the O.J. Simpson case. It’s a lot more like the Bill Clinton case. There are striking similarities between what Cosby did to many these women, and what Clinton did to Juanita Broaddrick, Paula Corbin Jones, Christy Zercher, Kathleen Willey, Carolyn Moffet, Sandra Allen James, etc., except that Cosby often drugged his victims, and it doesn’t appear that Clinton did that.
In case you’re wondering about the Rapist-In-Chief, here’s an article (or just google for those names).
Replace Bill Cosby with Clarence Thomas, and replace Bill’s accuser with Anita Hill, and it’s history repeating.
No, it’s not. Anita Hill was a single accuser, with severe credibility problems, and the accusations were of workplace harassment, not rape. In that case, many people knew both the accused and his accuser, and, as far as is known, not one of them believed her over him.
In Cosby’s case, there are more than a dozen accusers, and the accusations are far more serious. Most of them are of rape, or attempted rape.
Obviously only Bill Cosby and those women know the truth, just like only Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill know the truth.
But when you don’t report a crime, when you wait years or decades to come forward it does cause a lot of doubt.
Anita Hill claimed that she came forward because Clarence Thomas was up for an important job. And that due to his behavior he shouldn’t get it. If someone commits a crime against you it’s a crime then, not when they change jobs.
Bill Cosby was up to create a new show (a new job). And his message in recent years is about blacks having to be responsible for their education and success. Not a very popular message in some circles.
A good way to keep him on the side lines?
It is purely political.
I am glad he is fighting back and not folding. The black community needs his message.
Moral equivalence implied between the two, Tony? Innocent until proven guilty, I believe, is a principle in our country. Don’t buy into the hype to destroy someone who takes a realistic view of problems in the black community. Cosby may or may not have done what he is accused of, but because of his views, the left believes he must be destroyed.
+1
Well now it seems even more women have come out making allegations and Cosby has had a TV comedy project canceled.
