“Coldest December since 1942 grips Nashville”

Maybe Al Grope Gore thinks he lives in Europe?

Chris Bird moved here from Tampa in November 2009 and was introduced to a harsh winter, but he didn’t think it would repeat itself this year.

He was rethinking that position as temperatures struggled to reach 30 and a couple of inches of snow blanketed parts of the city on Sunday. Schools were closed, flights were delayed and traffic slowed to a crawl in some places. Another inch or so of snow was expected to fall overnight.

“In Florida, it’s record-breaking when it hits the 30s,” Bird, 20, said. “This weather has been in the teens. I don’t mind driving in the snow, but it’s cold.”

Nashville is experiencing its coldest December since 1942. Sunday’s below-freezing temperatures and snow created black ice conditions on many Middle Tennessee roads, said meteorologist Bobby Boyd with the National Weather Service. That prompted Metro Nashville Public Schools, along with neighboring school districts, to cancel classes today.

  1. But it’s hot at the Arctic. None of the cold around the world means anything. It all averages out in the wash.

    ;O)

  2. You are posting un-peer reviewed data. Coz all data has to go through peer review. ;o)

That is old news from last week! We have reached the high 30s since then and I went for a walk yesterday with the critters. I expect to do that again today but plan to be snowed in until sometime next week starting tomorrow.

Nashville is just a little tiny place on the map. The rest of the world has been warming bigtime. 99% of the last 23.6 years have been among the top ten warmist of all time! That fact has been peer reviewed by 97% of 113,962 of the world’s greatest scientists! The planet is is peril! You must be a right wing nut case in bed with Exxon/Mobile! How dare you try to confuse everyone with the facts!

  5. Tennessee always did want to secede.

  6. Andy Weiss says:

I believe Tennessee actually had a lot of Union loyalists during the Civil War, mostly in the eastern part.
