Contradicting the “..exceptionally.. snowy..”. No wonder they have trouble forecasting; they can’t even make up their minds.
This would be correct. Although there was snow on the ground for a lot of the time it didn’t fall very often. It ties in with the sunshine, the cold and the wind direction. It also reflects last spring which gave us record low levels of rain in the North West.
Makes you wonder about LIA British winters. Did it snow infrequently and just stick around for long periods of time because of the cold? There weren’t the homes, the people or traffic or even animal numbers there are now. There certanly weren’t any gritters. Once the land was white, it stayed that way until it warmed up. Once rivers froze, there weren’t the big ships to break the ice up.
But it firmly contradicts the AGW theory that we’ll get more snow because there is more moisture in the air. The UK gets snow because it’s cold. PERIOD.
Tell once again this is from global warming.

A few years ago I was riding the tubes in London and noticed something I almost never see anymore on the tubes – an English family.
Steve is referring to England – the only country in the UK not to have its own govt.

It is common knowledge that there has been anomalies in the North Atlantic and Gulf Stream currents, part of the worldwide system of heat transfer known as the Great Ocean Conveyor. There are those that believe that this is merely a symptom of a bigger worldwide climate change, an abrupt climate change, either an oscillation like the mini ice age of the middle ages that lasted hundreds of years, or possibly even an end of the current interglacial period known as the holocene. Certainly the data shows there is a recurrent cycle of glacial/interglacial over the last several hundred thousand years, and by the periodicity of the cycles, as shown in ice cores, we are certainly about ready to move to a new glacial period. Thus we better get used to the weather, in fact another big arctic blast is coming to UK as we speak. See for yourself at:
