1934 : Climate Scientists Actually Knew Something About The Climate

The invention of the climate model in the 1970s appears to have turned climate science comatose. There was a time when climate scientists actually used their brains.

“Statistics made public by the Smlthsonian Institution at Washington disclosed that at 14 government weather
mean temperature for the period from 1921 to 1930 was from .3 of a degree to 1.3 degrees higher than the mean for all the previous years in which these stations have kept records.

There is nothing particularly significant about that,” Doctor Taylor declared, “because these cycles of increase and decrease are normal. No striking climatic change is in sight for the world.”

Helluva find. Can’t tell what newspaper it is though without clicking on Google.

Last two paragraphs are crystal clear. I predict you are going to dig up some real gold, maybe something about 30/60 year generation length cycles which many of us understand intuitively.
