In his first public comments on Pakistan since the death of Osama bin Laden, President Obama said the al-Qaeda leader must have had “some sort of support network” there, although he doesn’t know if it included government officials.
Makes perfect sense. Obama says that Osama was running a global terrorist operation out of his house in Pakistan, but he needed someone local to get groceries and toothpaste for him.
The White House needs a propaganda czar to hash through whether or not their tangled web is even vaguely coherent.
You’re defining “some sort of support network” as someone to get groceries. Other interpretations are possible.
Of course this is true. That’s why it was a ‘command center’ that had to be taken out with maximum force. That’s why Obama is such a hero. He did all this on a rather uncomfortable chair, in a room with Biden and Hillary. That takes unprecedented courage.
Just saw a BBC ‘news’ report from Pakistan, from the town where this happened. The correspondent interviewed 50 people on the street, 49 didn’t believe the fairy tale. One guy said that the guy watching TV in the video was his neighbour… so, of course, nobody followed up on that. Amazed to see it get past the censors.
Nah, they were just running short of drone “targets”. This will free up a few more…
