Researchers at Stanford University who surveyed port authorities around the globe found most were unsure what steps to take to protect their facilities from rising sea levels and more frequent hurricane-strength storms, a Stanford release reported Monday.
“Part of the problem is that science says that by 2100, we’ll experience anywhere from 1.5 to 6 feet of sea level rise,” researcher Austin Becker said. “That’s a huge range.”
Does science speak? Is it a male voice or a female voice?
Whoever “science” is, math says something different. According to the EU Envisat satellite, sea level is rising at 0.9 mm/year and slowing down. That means that by 2100 we will see no more than three inches of sea level rise.

I’m tired of unscrupulous people trashing the good name of science. Having a science degree doesn’t give you the right to be dishonest or turn your brain off.
What I find hilarious is that tides near the major port where I live can fluctuate by as much as 15 feet over a day or so … and these “scientists” are saying the Port Management can’t deal with a 1.5 foot increase over 100 years.
Steve, the game is over. Humanity is doomed into a boiling broth of superheated hell. What can we do to cool our warmer winters?
Based on recent trends we are all doomed to deceleration. It’s worse than we thought!

I project that by 2100, we’ll experience anywhere from -100 feet to +100 feet of sea level risefall. It’s called the theory of sea level risefall. My pension is safe in the hands of climate science funding. 😉
someone go over there and leave a comment on that morons article…………
no link to storms
sea level rise has slowed down
If the earth really is going into a mild Little Ice Age then all bets about sea level rise are off. Sea level will go down in that case. It is foolish to act like you can predict anything to happen over the course of the next 100 years. But it’s even more foolish to believe people that make those predictions. Will sea level go up, down, or stay the same over the next 100 years? I don’t know and neither do they.
I’m not going to check my brain at the door. God made the brain too beautiful to shut it off and stop using it. I don’t think it was intended for non-use!
I’ve said this before but will again, with emphasis.
The tidal range is about 2-6 feet in most parts of the world. So anything that might get wet in 2100 due to “global warming/sea level rise” is already getting wet twice a day – – – and nobody seems to be getting their knickers in a twist about the frikkin’ tides! It’s the MOON, you moron.
Jeez – science literacy has gone completely out the window [sigh]
The last 80 years show a slight deceleration in sea level rise. That means there is a negative correlation with rising man made CO2. lol

Jim Cole, while 2-6 feet may be normal in some parts, this is a list of the top 50 tidal ranges and #50 is still 23 feet.

I’ve seen boats in Wales tied 20 feet above low tide in the Bristol Channel.
