Sea Level Rise Threatens Boulder Campus

Our leading sea level scamsters insist that sea level is rising at 3+mm/year and that it has accelerated since 1993. This obviously isn’t true, but facts never slow down the AGW gravy train.

Our analyses do not indicate acceleration in sea level in U.S. tide gauge records during the 20th century. Instead, for each time period we consider, the records show small decelerations that are consistent with a number of earlier studies of worldwide-gauge records. The decelerations that we obtain are opposite in sign and one to two orders of magnitude less than the +0.07 to +0.28 mm/y² accelerations that are required to reach sea levels predicted for 2100 by Vermeer and Rahmsdorf (2009), Jevrejeva, Moore, and Grinsted (2010), and Grinsted, Moore, and Jevrejeva (2010). Bindoff et al. (2007) note an increase in worldwide temperature from 1906 to 2005 of 0.74uC. It is essential that investigations continue to address why this worldwide-temperature increase has not produced acceleration of global  sea level over the past 100 years, and indeed why global sea level has possibly decelerated for at least the last 80 years.

Hansen meant that multi-metre sea level rise this century is “dead, certainly.”

  2. Sleepalot says:

    “uC”? microCelcius?

  3. Paul H says:

Funny how our Warmists friends don’t appear when some peer reviewed science disagrees with their alarmist nonsense.

  4. Andy WeissDC says:

The only thing “dead certain” about the year 2100 is that we will all be dead. So unfortunately, we won’t be here to kick Hansen’s dead carcass around for his stupid forecasts. Maybe we can kick it around in the next realm.

  5. Sundance says:

Isostatic adjustments now put Boulder’s location in the Stratosphere.

  6. Sundance says:

Will Hansen be able to see Boulder under water from his office window?

  7. NikFromNYC says:

“Something had happened, a thing which years ago had been the eagerest hope of many, many good citizens of the town. And now it came at last: George Amberson Minafer had got his comeuppance. He’d got it three times filled and running over. But those who had longed for it were not there to see it. And they never knew it, those who were still living had forgotten all about it, and all about him.” – Orson Welles (opening narrative in the movie “The Magnificent Ambersons” of 1942)
