WASHINGTON — Greenland’s ice sheet melted the most it has in over a half century last year, US government scientists said Tuesday in one of a series of “unmistakable” signs of climate change.
“The world continues to warm,” the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said in a briefing paper for reporters.
“Multiple indicators, same bottom-line conclusion: consistent and unmistakable signal from the top of the atmosphere to the bottom of the oceans.”
If the ice sheets are melting down, then the melted water has to go into the ocean. Sea level has to rise. Problem is, sea level plummeted during the hottest year ever – 2010. To make matters worse, they also claimed near record oceanic heat content and sea surface temperatures – which further undermines their ice sheet story.

Proving once again that you don’t have to know any science to be a climate scientist. In fact, it helps if you don’t.
Ha, it’s only because you haven’t normalized, homogenized, and adjusted the numbers. Once that’s all been added up you’ll find that Manhattan is under almost 75 meters of water.
Van Allen Belt has caught fire….
Sorry but that doesn’t break the law of conservation of mass and volume is not conserved.
Right. Hottest year ever, earth continuing to warm, oceans gaining heat, record melt, and sea levels lowest in eight years. You are freaking genius.
You also forgot the hottest decade on the record.
It is getting soooooo hot that all the water is still in the atmosphere waiting for the right time to fall on Colorado. It has your name on it. 8) You will be sorry you did not believe the NOAA!

One of your best comments this year!
🙂
Chicken Little the founder of modern climatology??
The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of water at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t.
From the article:
The Oslo-based Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Program said in May that warming in the Arctic was on track to lift sea levels by up to 5.3 feet (1.6 meters) by 2100, a far steeper jump than predicted a few years ago.
Ah, so when they were predicting 30 meters by 2040 that’s a shallower slope than 1.6 meters by 2100. And when Hansen was claiming 75 meters that must be their version of a negative slope.
Well, sort of makes sense: the atmospheric heat had to come from somewhere and it wasn’t the sun! So if the oceans release heat it has to cool, right? That makes it something of a “canary in the coal mine”. Once that heats radiated away, with a quiet sun, the atmosphere is next.
Ice cap melts, goes into the ocean, more evaporation due to being hotter, rain falls on the land during Wimbledon, hence no sea level change.
Worse than that, all of the imaginary sea level gain ran from Greenland and gathered just south of Indochina by the Philippines.

Apparently, that’s where water is the happiest.
There could be some more piling up there since models are showing a double dip La Nina on the way—-these are all short term climate models so who knows, they maybe right.

And it looks like the amount of blue heading west of the Galapagos is increasing:

James Hansen said there would be a strong El Nino by this summer. Doh!
lol, I love the model, there’s what, 24 or so possible outcomes?…..
I think those are forecasts by 24, or more, individual people. They put them all up and then have the black line as an average of them all. Least ways that’s what I dun cyphered from it.
nope, individual models
1999: “The world is warming! Look at the temperature graph – it tells the whole story”
2011:”The world is warming! Don’t look at the temperature graph – it doesn’t tell the whole story”
Here is what I want to see. Some reporter stand up and ask …
You mean the Interglacial isn’t over yet? Well sir, exactly what should the world be doing right now? Are you saying it should not be warming? Are you saying the Interglacial has run its course and that humans are artificially prolonging this tiny warm period in between glaciations? Why did you open with that statement? Just what are you trying to say?
You see, it’s simple.
I think it must have sublimated and mysteriously found its way to Lake Powell and Minot.
The period 1979-1999 were golden years for alamists, the only period since the 1930’s where temperatures actually rose (without fudging).
Would an “alamist” be an alarmist from Boston? 🙂
sorry, meant “alarmists”. those typos get you evry time.
