NPR : “the lamest of lame-duck presidents”

November 4, 2008

President Bush “is the lamest of lame-duck presidents we have ever had,” says Brinkley, a professor at Rice University and editor of The Reagan Diaries. “Bush is completely ineffective.” The economy is unhinged; wars rage overseas; the president’s approval ratings have gone to seed”

  1. Latitude says:

This was after the democrats took over both houses….
How is it we don’t hold the president responsible right now…
    …and blame Congress
But back then, we held the president responsible, and it wasn’t Congress and the Senates fault…

It was the democrat congress and senate the last two years of Bush….
…just like it was the republican congress and senate that made Clinton look good

Can we get an updated qoute from Brinkley? From lame duck to blame schmuck.

  3. True, but take into account that even the half-drowned bunnies were ignoring Carter by the time his official lame-duck session started.

(also keeping in mind that Carter’s party controlled both houses during his entire tenure)

  4. If it walks like an Obama, talks like an Obama, and looks like an Obama, then it must be a lame duck.
