    My mom came from a large California farm family. Eight of the nine kids survived the Depression and numerous epidemics/infections that passed through the San Joaquin Valley in the 1920s and 30s

    Uncle Floyd passed away at age 7 from spinal meningitis.

    No one, except Grandma, remembers Floyd either

    Given modern technology we can name storms that we would never have known about years ago; how can we compare today against decades ago? Seems the alarmists have an advantage on us in this area.

    It’s so sad to see the weather persons in Florida giving their same, dull, everyday “partly cloudy, 40% chance of rain” forecast almost everyday, BUT you see their eyes light up when there is even a low pressure system that has any sign of spin.
