This is a case where using the term ‘trap’ is correct. Our atmosphere does not ‘trap’ heat, but coal holds ‘trapped’ carbon that came from the atmosphere.
Nice to see that there were some rational people back then. We need more of them today.
So Arrenhius had it that CO2 was 1/2500 or 400 ppm way back then? No tree ring studies then, just analytical meaurements which were obviously wrong otherwise global warming would be a complete scam! Can’t believe a word this Arrenhius says can you?
It appears that Arrenhius was not aware of the work of Robert W. Wood a professor of physics and optic at John Hopkins University that showed that the “greenhouse effect’ can not happen in the atmosphere. This work was peer reviewed and published in 1909. This work has been verified by “Wood is correct: There is no Greenhouse Effect
