The one that galls me comes from standard AP-style reporting of earthquakes.
In para one, the writer is allowed to call it an “earthquake”
In para two, the style manual seems to demand that it be called a “temblor”
No earth scientist, seismologist, or geophysicist EVER uses the term “temblor’. Total DORK-ness
Journalists today are the same sort of folk who used to default to Sociology majors to get a degree, but now they just want to “make a difference in the world”. Yeah, right.
Accuweather and NWS are still sticking to their stories and have moved landfall a bit further east while increasing strength at landfall. As a precaution everyone East of the Mississippi River should evacuate, Just In Case!
CLB has spoken so the sky must be falling! Martha’s Vineyard here she comes!!!!!
Accuweather is still saying Carolina and bringing back memories of Fran. I was there to experience Fran and observe the destruction around Wake Forest area afterward.
Two days ago they were certain about Florida and yesterday Georgia which lead to SC last night. Landfall is moving North and will probably reach Greenland before the end of the week.
They are now showing a path further east but still NC. By this evening it will be projected to brush the outer banks.
