Why would Obama even bring this subject up? It would have made no sense for McCain to accuse him of being a Christian to gain political advantage.

Last I checked, Rev. Jeremiah Wright is a Christian. However, it was the liberal media that downplayed this fact.
Um, the right Rev. Jeremiah *calls* himself Christian. His words and deeds say otherwise.
John – agree but to delve deeper as to why the press ignored his faith, I think it was because Wright’s church preached a Black separatist philosophy. The reason the love struck press never mentioned his Christian faith, in my view, is because being a Black separatist Christian wasn’t much better than being Muslim in the eyes of White America, so the press knew it wouldn’t help and possibly it could hurt Obama if they brought it up, so they didn’t bring it up.

I checked out the Obama = Muslim claim. It turns out to be less than accurate.

It would be more accurate to say that neither Barry, nor his “misunderestimated” predecessor, is the brightest bulb in the firmament. Both are prone to opening their mouths, inserting their feet, and chewing vigorously.
I’m inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt when they claim to have some particular religious persuasion, at times when they’re not noshing on their own shoe-leather.

Obama is his own favorite deity.
The issue is not whether he was a Christian but what body of Christ he belonged to. Rather radical would be putting it mildly. Yet Pravda made more of Romney being a Mormon than Obama being a member of a radical Christian splinter. Way to go Pravda!
