Legitimate science would be something like “snow is a thing of the past” or “global warming to decrease heavy snowfalls” or “Solar Cycle 24 to be a big one

WOW! You are on the list between SS and Tallbloke! You are rubbing elbows with Johnnie Boy and Rodger.
Surreal Climate, Airhead, Waskelly Wabbit’s Chicken Coop, Weasel Lair, SS and James and partner.Dsmutblog, Climate Regress, Revkin, Huff-n-puff, BBC, etc. Those are the real science blogs. Pathological science that is!

    • Marian says:

Well the ‘real science’ blogs have more often than not become unreal science blogs with all the politicized junk science trying to pass as science. So no wonder the layman or alternative science blogs are doing better. Since many of them are more objective and rational to the basics of science, than they’re and are more trying to keep to the scientific method/principals, that those legitimate science blogs have been quite often sadly failing for too much BS!

  2. Since I hadn’t gotten a confirmation email from the Bloggies site after voting for the Finalists in various categories, I used the site contact form to inquire about, and 3 days later I got a direct email from Nikolai Nolan confirming my vote. From that, I emailed back a follow-up question about my own guest posts appearing in WUWT and reproductions of my articles from American Thinker appearing at Tallbloke, to ask if my stuff became less legitimate or if it lessened the illegitimacy of those sites. I ended up exchanging 5 more emails with him, each one of his becoming more “entertaining”, shall we say, regarding his opinion of what was legitimate or not in science blogs.

    • Dave N says:

I’m guessing his opinion of “legitimate” is that which is regurgitated in the MSM and/or embraced by government. “Reflected in reality” seems to be less of a concern for legitimacy with certain groups.

  3. Dave N says:

“Legitimate science would be something like “snow is a thing of the past” or “global warming to decrease heavy snowfalls” or “Solar Cycle 24 to be a big one“”

That the “legitimate” sites are so often wrong and/or inconsistent should tell The Guardian something. They should have popular awards for newspapers (same voting system).. then they might understand; but more likely not.

  4. The new definition of legitimate science is:

Asserting X is true and then everyone else has to waste their time debunking X. Also, if you’re a debunker of ‘X’ you’re an unbeliever and should be called names. 😉

  5. Robertv says:

    Goddard’s law

  6. Snafu says:

Don’t forget that SkepSci (cough) had a major dummy spit, and pulled out.

  7. John Silver says:

    Congratulations, Mr Goddard!

  8. These can only be the result of a popularity contest. Most of those “skeptical” sites are “lukewarmers” in the climate debate, and are only prolonging the time when good science finally seeps into the collective (un)conscious. They have been molasses slow in approaching a recognition of the level of actual insanity (determined reality avoidance), on a societal and even worldwide scale, that unwarranted belief in the “greenhouse effect”, among INCOMPETENT scientists, has brought about.

    • Yeah us evil Luke Warmers are apologists for those crazy catastrophists. I’m not supposed to tell you this but we receive secret pay cheques from green energy companies whose products without government subsidies would otherwise be next to worthless.

  9. John Bogen, M.D. says:

    I voted for you, Steve.

  10. Luke of the D says:

Bravo Mr. Goddard! And I see the “legitimate” comment as a complement… you know like, a king has a bunch of kids – several legitimate, others not so much – but then he dies and you come to find out that the “legitimate” kids were born of the butler! And lo-and-behold, the “illegitimate” kid is the rightful heir! A new king is crowned! Well almost anyway.
