I haven’t been following him in the news, but I remember the news showed a smiling, cocky defendant in court last week. So I think the odds are he is just yanking peoples’ chains to see whether this is taken seriously, by a world he obviously considers filled with morons. He wasn’t a Muslim on jihad when he committed the murders, because he would have yelled “Allah akhbar” during, and made his jihad quite clear to authorities (and the press) immediately after. He had to be a lot quicker off the mark to make me believe this outlandish story.
