How quickly things change …..
This March has been the coldest in over 50 years across much of the UK and Europe, and the bitterest ever recorded in places like Sheffield. Keeping up with the new meme of extreme weather but using severe weather. Why don’t they call it what it really is, that they don’t know what they are doing.
Wow. The Guardian can’t give up the government-will-help-us meme, even when the result is a completely incoherent commentary.
A “secretary of state for cold”. As Gore Vidal once said in a different context, “A peachy idea. And” [to paraphrase GV] the Guardian has proposed it. (By a John Vidal no less! I wonder if they’re related.)
Of course they do, they are utterly helpless! Having lost the ability to think for themselves, they are forever dependent on an abusive nanny.
Indeed how things have changed. Even the Guardian’s journo writes
Not too long ago they used to talk endlessly about early springs caused by global warming.
A non stop cryfest. This is sad.
Some of these people will whine no matter what the weather does. But that’s kind of people in general. In the summertime people cry for winter and snow and in the winter time they complain because it’s cold and depressing and they want summer and spring back.
