I’m curious how any adult could be dense enough to believe that ice only melts if the temperature is rising? Does that mean they believe that the ice in their glass can not melt after 5:00 pm, when the temperature starts to fall?
Temperatures peaked 8,000 years ago, and have been falling ever since.

Rising sea level means that we are in an interglacial. When sea level stops rising, that means were are descending into an ice age.

Just a little note to Richard… If you dig just about anywhere in the state of Florida, you will find fossilized remains of marine organisms, often trapped in thick layers of limestone. There is also a giant, ancient sand dune that runs up the spine of the state, known as the Lake Wales Ridge. Sea levels were much higher in the distant past and will be again, no matter how much money the Great Green Scammers suck from hard-working families to enrich themselves and control every aspect of our lives. Sea levels will also be lower at some point in the distant future, no matter how much CO2 we humans put into the air.

And if you go to the Himalayas you’ll also find fossiled remains of marine organisms. 🙂
Exactly, but those are much, much older than the ones in FL. They’ve also been displaced vertically by plate tectonics. Ours have stayed at pretty much the same altitude and show that, despite there being no Eeeeevil SUV’s being present, the Sun was quite capable of making ice cubes melt or freeze. 😉

The curious thing is activists such as Richard have moved the goal posts. Circa 2007 we were all going to die from AGW. Circa 2013, it’s still warming – or at least hasn’t started cooling – so I was right all along, The most recent warming trend has lasted about 300 years so far.
It is around 340 years now since the 1670’s when it reached coldest level of the LIA and started warming back up.The last 4 warming epochs have lasted around 350 years each and then cool back down for a century or two,three…

Here is a very interesting article by a chap called Fred Colbourne. It starts with:
“The man paddled into the estuary of the Don River, near Aberdeen. A strange sight he was too, in his peculiar clothes and a boat that was not a boat. At least not the sort of boat anyone had seen before, except in books. From 1690 AD to 1728 AD, Eskimos paddling their kayaks had made similar visits to the Orkney Islands, 200 km farther north than Aberdeen and only 900 km from Iceland; but this far south the appearance of an Eskimo was cause for concern.

The problem was the sea had become too cold for cod and the fisheries were failing. Colder winters and cooler summers brought starvation not only to Icelanders, but to Scots and Norwegians as well, and a century later caused the failure of the potato harvest in Ireland and its depopulation. The cooling had started centuries before, but was to become more persistent.”

A very good observation that agrees with Fred Colbourne’s conclusion in the article I referenced above. He was very prescient; writing between 2001 & 2005.
“Possibly human activity is an important factor in global warming since 1900. A simpler explanation would be that the Earth is still recovering from the Little Ice Age and that human activity is a minor factor in global climate change. For how long the climate will continue to warm and by how much is uncertain. If the past is any guide, the year 500 suggests a possible scenario (figure 2). Applied to the modern period, the scenario would give 100 years of warming from 1900 to the present, 50 years of cooling to 2050, 50 years of warming to 2100, followed by 300 years of cooling.”
