In other words, their hands are blistered and 50 miles away the route is blocked by ice.

  2. Latitude says:

winds out of the east and north east….
    blowing it right on them
…and the morons still couldn’t figure out where the ice went

  3. Richard Lynch says:

Well, while they were storm bound they either did a hell of a lot of rowing or they portaged across the ice, because they made a great leap forward in GPS location. They are on the move again, having made it to the bird sanctuary or whatever the hell the unlabled green area is on the map.

  5. Chewage says:

That picture says it all, I had arctic training – military- only a shelter half or snow cave- moved on snow shoes. Did not, of course get up to the arctic circle- far from it in Alaska. But windchill,s could be close to 100 below F degrees. If you have that kind of convenience, you are proving nothing. At least brave the elements a little!

Nonetheless, it’s going to get boring in that little Pod. If that’s the Cabin of their “Rowboat” they’re going to need help to drag that thing hundreds of miles.

  9. Chewage says:

    Looks like they’ve stalled again…
At this rate their single malt will be toast:)

  10. Andy Oz says:

No photo yet of the icy Arctic sea. Excellent control of the drip of information.
These guys are PR pros! I’ll be interested to see if they ever get past “Tuk”.

Wow that wind is really penetrating. The wind chill must be high!

  14. Stephen Richards says:

They could easily attach the GPS to a snowmobile and gently pull the canoe across the ice.

It shows that they are right now in an 1-3/10 ice concentration area.

The guy on the far left looks a little like Chris Elliott. “Cabin Boy”, anyone?
