As The World Turns

As The World Turns was a popular soap opera in the 1950s and 1960s.

Who would have imagined that 50 years later, the president of Russia would have far more credibility than the president of the US? Reading the comments on various left wing news sites, I see see almost no one who believes Obama’s story about Syria (or any other topic.)

I would posit Obama is a bigger marxist than Putin. Russia’s income tax is 13% and corporate tax rate is 20%. There is also a VAT of 18% which makes it hard to compare the ultimate tax burden, but it is Obama is always seeking to increase taxes and limit liberty in the name of fairness.

I listen to a guy named Dennis Prager. He has a column out today that begins with this:

“I cannot count the number of times I heard liberal professors and liberal writers quote the phrase: “When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.”
The phrase is brilliant. There is actually no threat to America of fascism coming from the right. The essence of the American right, after all, is less government; and fascism, by definition, demands ever larger government.

Therefore, if there is a real fascist threat to America, it comes from the left, whose appetite for state power is essentially unlimited. But because the left has so long dominated American intellectual, academic, artistic, and media life, it has succeeded in implanting fear of the right.

I have never written that there is a threat of fascism in America. I always considered the idea overwrought. But now I believe there really is such a threat — and it will come draped not in an American flag, but in the name of tolerance and health.”

Oh-Blame-Ya has earned his credibility deficit. One bald-faced lie at a time.

Even his most ardent supporters must be amazed at how many wars this “Nobel Peace Prize” winner is willing to start and support.

    Steve,

Against whom in the USA, does Obama think he will use 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition & 2,700 mine resistant vehicles in the name of Homeland Security?

Now we have all the warmongers on the left, like Eugene Robinson.
Everyone’s calling for war, Russia be damned. It’s almost as if war itself is what’s desired. “We haven’t had a good war in a long time. Libya wasn’t a war it was a kinetic military action, and Iraq was a bad war.” War, war, war!
Kind of like the sentiment that led up to World War I. There was no real reason for WWI. A whole generation had “missed out” on war. People wanted war. That’s what they got. Be careful that we don’t get the same.

Do not be fooled it is us, the masses, against the Ruling Class. Democrats and Republicans, Conservatives vs Liberals are all ‘Controlled’ opposition nicely orchestrated by the propaganda outlets (MSM.) ‘Activists’ are sucked into a group such as Organic Consumers, WWF, Greenpeace, the American Association of Retired Persons or whatever. The CONTROL is not with the members but with a tightly knit group at the top and the main funding is from foundations like the Rockefellers or govenments.

    From Rasmussen Polls:
67% of Political Class Say U.S. Heading in Right Direction, 84% of Mainstream Disagrees

68% Say Political Class Doesn’t Care What Most Americans Think

  8. Off-topic, but that image shows you where peoples’ heads were in the 1950’s, even soap opera fans–outer space, surrounding This Island Earth (notwithstanding fads like the hula hoop and Davy Crockett outfits–oh yes, I had a Hopalong Cassidy outfit, which finally dropped off the clothesline into the muddy yard, when I was 5 or 6, and my mother simply threw it away; that’s where it really all started to go wrong in this country). All my lovely models from that era are long gone now…I ruined my Explorer I satellite, trying to get it to fly, but the rest just kind of disintegrated into their component parts, after a few years (of the kind of accidents families with small children and pets are prone to), or were gone when I got back from the Army–my younger siblings were barbarians. Interestingly (to me, and to future generations, worldwide), I still have a model Earth, in the form of an interactive graphics program I developed, and used to uncover and verify the Great Design of the “gods” (which your great-great-grandchildren scientists will all study, no matter what their science specialty is). We’ve come a long way, babies.
