Mono Lake is on the other side of the mountains from Yosemite. Every ten years NASA claims they have discovered alien life. It is also the hottest year on record.

I am glad you cleared that up!
I was beginning to think an earthquake moved either Yosemite East or Mono Lake west since I was last there in Spring 2005.
If Nasa wants to find real aliens they should send deep sea researchers to the geothermal vents along the ocean ridges.
I just went to WUWT and Anthony beat me to the Deep Ocean connection! ๐
Aliens in California….
You finally tracked me down!!
Mono Lake’s largest contributor flows 50 yard from my house ๐
I probably drove past your place a few times over the last 40+ years! It is just a short hop to Area 51 so now we know where the folks from Roswell got to when they broke out of captivity! ๐
the basin is indeed a spectacular and alien landscape!
the ‘basin’ is full of strange folk, and the june lake loop takes the cake. they even call us ‘loopers’.
.
Speaking of alien life forms and such. I just found this from AP:
WASHINGTON โ The universe may glitter with far more stars than even Carl Sagan imagined when he rhapsodized about billions upon billions. A new study suggests there are a mind-blowing 300 sextillion of them, or three times as many as scientists previously calculated. That is a 3 followed by 23 zeros. Or 3 trillion times 100 billion.

It is worse that we thought. AGW causes more stars!
I always thought those lunatics in Cali couldn’t be from earth.
