Beautiful Summer In Antarctica

The meteorological summer is into its third day, and Vostok, Antarctica is averaging minus 52F so far.

This is far below normal. The cold is due to polar amplification of unprecedented warming during the hottest year ever.

    In addition to the the extreme cold in Antarctica (and the extreme “heat” on Baffin Island – I guess temperatures around the freezing point in December can be considered “hot” up there), what’s striking in this anomaly image is how the eurasian continent is divided horizontally into a colder-than-normal and a warmer-than-normal part.

      That is a rehash of the Chicken and Egg controversy. It proves they are still not able to figure out the cloud relationship to weather.
