Eastern Arctic Sea Ice Coverage Is The Highest This Millenium

Eastern Arctic sea ice coverage is the highest since 1999, and considerably higher than 1981.

Arctic Global Warming Expedition Derailed By Too Much Ice

ScreenHunter_9960 Jul. 22 11.04

A carefully planned, 115-day scientific expedition on board the floating research vessel, the CCGS Amundsen, has been derailed as the icebreaker was called to help resupply ships navigate heavy ice in Hudson Bay.

“Obviously it has a large impact on us,” says Martin Fortier, executive director of ArcticNet, which coordinates research on the vessel. “It’s a frustrating situation.”

During the summer, the  Amundsen operates as a floating research centre with experiments running 24 hours a day. This year it was scheduled to reach North Baffin Bay.

Another Very Wet Year In Fort Collins

Following the dry years from 2000-2007, we are having another very wet growing season in Fort Collins, with about 10 inches of rain over the last 10 weeks.

I’ve never seen it wet and green like this at the end of July.

The climate is cyclical, and shows no long term trends. People who claim it is changing significantly due to the tiny changes in CO2 (0.0001 mole fraction) over the last century – are either idiots or criminals.

A Closer Look At The Beaufort Sea

The Beaufort Sea, north of Alaska, is full of large floes of thick multi-year ice, that show very little sign of melt. The edges are sharp and clean, indicating that not much melt is occurring. The larger ice floes are 50 miles across.

ScreenHunter_237 Jul. 21 21.09

Air temperatures there are forecast to remain near or below freezing for the next two weeks

ScreenHunter_238 Jul. 21 21.13

So where does leave alarmists?  They are screwed. If the water in the Beaufort Sea doesn’t warm significantly during the next two weeks, a big melt is unlikely in August.

Facts will not stop them from lying about it, however – like they do about everything else related to climate.

Fraudster James Hansen Recycling His 30 Year Old Lies

In 1988, climate fraudster James Hansen said Manhattan would be underwater by 2008.

While doing research 12 or 13 years ago, I met Jim Hansen, the scientist who in 1988 predicted the greenhouse effect before Congress. I went over to the window with him and looked out on Broadway in New York City and said, “If what you’re saying about the greenhouse effect is true, is anything going to look different down there in 20 years?” He looked for a while and was quiet and didn’t say anything for a couple seconds. Then he said, “Well, there will be more traffic.” I, of course, didn’t think he heard the question right. Then he explained, “The West Side Highway [which runs along the Hudson River] will be under water. And there will be tape across the windows across the street because of high winds. And the same birds won’t be there. The trees in the median strip will change.” Then he said, “There will be more police cars.” Why? “Well, you know what happens to crime when the heat goes up.”

And so far, over the last 10 years, we’ve had 10 of the hottest years on record.

Didn’t he also say that restaurants would have signs in their windows that read, “Water by request only.”

Under the greenhouse effect, extreme weather increases. Depending on where you are in terms of the hydrological cycle, you get more of whatever you’re prone to get. New York can get droughts, the droughts can get more severe and you’ll have signs in restaurants saying “Water by request only.”

When did he say this will happen?

Within 20 or 30 years. And remember we had this conversation in 1988 or 1989.

Does he still believe these things?

Yes, he still believes everything. I talked to him a few months ago and he said he wouldn’t change anything that he said then.

Stormy weather – Salon.com

Undaunted by the spectacular failure of his 1988 prophesy, he is repeating the same nonsense in 2015

The new study by Hansen and 16 colleagues believes even averting the 2.0 degree temperature increase would still not be a safe “guardrail” that the media, and some politicians, would have the world believe. Hansen also thinks the IPCC is not estimating how quickly the ice sheets can melt, which would cause catastrophic sea level rise and would “render coastal cities such as New York, London and Shanghai uninhabitable.” Except current observations show that Antarctica, Greenland, and the Arctic are not melting at the alarming rates as predicted in his new study or the IPCC’s reports.

Is there no way to shut these criminals up, or at least get the press to stop parroting their lies?
