There are large numbers of web sites devoted to making personal attacks on climate skeptics. Apparently they are being funded by the White House.

They aren’t debating the science. They are simply making personal attacks, while desecrating the memory of the Holocaust.

Astonishing that the US could be experiencing such vile behavior from the President in 2015.

Are government climate agencies tampering with climate data to show warming? Some Republicans think so. That’s what California Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher says to expect at congressional hearings on climate data tampering.

For years, those skeptical of man-made global warming have argued that government agencies are altering raw temperature data to create a warming trend. Allegations of tampering have increased as satellite temperature readings show much less warming than land and ocean-based weather stations show.

Science blogger Steven Goddard (a pseudonym) has been a major critic of NASA’s and NOAA’s temperature measurements. Goddard points out that NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center makes the present look warmer by artificially cooling past temperatures to show a warming trend.

“NCDC pulls every trick in the book to turn the US cooling trend into warming. The raw data shows cooling since the 1920s,” Goddard told The Daily Caller News Foundation in an interview last month.

“NCDC does a hockey stick of adjustments to reverse the trend,” Goddard said. “This includes cooling the past for ‘time of observation bias’ infilling missing rural data with urban temperatures, and doing almost nothing to compensate for urban heat island effects.”

NOAA does make temperature adjustments, but it argues such adjustments are necessary to remove “artificial biases” in surface temperature data. The biggest adjustment made by NCDC scientists is cooling past data to take into account the fact that there was a big shift from taking temperature readings in the afternoon to the morning.

TOBS is actually only a small portion of the Final minus Raw adjustments, and is not due to the time when they “take the temperature.” That is misdirection by NCDC intended to confuse people. It is based on the time when the thermometer is reset. Min/max thermometers record the highest and lowest temperatures since the last time they were reset.

“We get a lot of people questioning our data adjustments,” Thomas Peterson, NCDC’s principal scientist, told TheDCNF. There was an “artificial cool bias in the data,” Peterson said.

UHI makes an artificial cool bias?  These people should be stand up comedians.

If the Republicans understand and focus on the low hanging fruit, this is a slam dunk. There is overwhelming evidence that the US temperature adjustments are completely bogus. They need to stay away from the global temperature data and avoid discussions of individual stations. Those mistakes would take them down a rat hole which Tom Karl has buried them in the past.

NCDC has been tasked by the White House to produce propaganda to help push Barack Obama’s global warming agenda through. This includes a recent press release that the current winter is one of the hottest on record in the US.

Never mind that the Great Lakes are nearing a record high for ice coverage.

Never mind that the US is facing record cold over for the remainder of the winter.

What is important is that NCDC tampers with the data in a spectacular hockey stick, to make a frozen country appear to be warming out of control. 

Note that they do maximum data tampering at the actual hottest year of 1934.

   In 1986 I owned a house right on the beach (Long Island Sound). The foundation of the house was approximately 12 feet above the mean high tide level. In that year I had to make a decision to sell that house or another house not on the coast. My decision was “informed” by “scientific” predictions of impending sea-level rise which would cause disastrous consequences on our coastline over the next 30 or 40 years (for example, see http://www.nytimes.com/1986/02/18/science/significant-rise-in-sea-level-now-seems-certain.html ). So I sold the beach house. Hansen’s widely-reported 1988 or ’89 claims about massive problems expected to hit NYC due to sea-level rise over about that same period appeared to justify the concerns that led to my decision to sell the house.

   Well, it’s almost 30 years since then, and the foundation of that house is still approximately 12 feet above the mean high tide level. I have been deprived of the enjoyment of that property over the last 30 years because I foolishly believed that there was a valid scientific basis rather than a political basis to those claims about impending sea-level rise.

   Who is going to compensate me for the damage that was done to my life?

   People such as Hansen line their pockets with alarmist cash while making pronouncements that are false. In any other line of work people would go to jail for such deceit.

Nearly identical weather as February, 1934 tells thief, liar, fraudster and likely forger Peter Gleick that “we broke the weather.”

Threats from Global Warming

Global warming adds yet another stress to a Great Lakes system already struggling with aquatic invasive species, deleterious land use changes, nonpoint source pollution, toxic chemical contamination, and coastal habitat degradation/wetlands loss. Potential global warming impacts include reduced water levels (due in particular to decreased winter ice cover allowing more evaporation), increased frequency of intense storm events (altering the timing of inflows), and warmer water temperatures.

Already, Lake Superior has increased water temperatures and an earlier onset of summer stratification by about two weeks in just the past 30 years. Within another 30 years Lake Superior may be mostly ice-free in a typical winter.

The Great Lakes are about to pass last year’s record for ice cover. Lake Superior had ice well into July last year.
