A small town with 100 homes will burn 10,000,000,000 BTU’s during a cold winter. All of this heat returns to the atmosphere. The colder the air, the more rapid the heat loss and more effect on the temperature.
Crossing the boundary from open space into a neighborhood on my bicycle, I typically see five degrees difference in temperature on a still night, due mainly to asphalt and heat escaping from houses.
Berkeley Earth makes no correction for this huge problem.
Greenland scientists are burning fossil fuels, which has raised temperatures from -58.7 degrees up to -58.0 degrees.
Deniliquin has not only cooled since the 19th century, but the frequency of very hot days has also dropped dramatically.
BOM ignores all pre-1910 temperatures, because they don’t fit the global warming narrative.
These geniuses left their fossil fuel heated and powered cars for a few minutes to take a picture protesting global warming. Then they scurried back to their cars, turned the heat on and drove back to their coal powered homes to enjoy the rest of the day.
Note that there is no visible pollution coming out of that clean power plant.
How do humans get this stupid?
Berkeley Earth claims that UHI has no effect on the temperature trends. This is in direct opposition to other studies, satellite data, radiosonde data, and common sense.
Dr. Roy Spencer has demonstrated that UHI has a huge effect.

Both sets of satellite data indicate that BEST surface temperatures are warming much faster than the air over the land.

Radiosonde data shows the same thing. Reported land temperatures are rising much faster than the atmosphere.
Global warming theory requires that the atmosphere warm faster than the surface. Obviously what Berkeley Earth is seeing is not due to global warming.
Everybody understands that suburban sprawl, snow removal, pavement, brick, dark roofs, huge amounts of fuel being burned, etc. causes temperatures to rise. It defies explanation how scientists could accept a finding that UHI is not affecting the temperature record.
The Antarctic summer is -51F and the Greenland winter is headed down to -60F. The meltdown dooms us.
A number of prominent skeptics are now on record saying “they have to adjust the raw temperature data.”
The logic behind that being – the raw data has some margin of error in it, therefore we have to accept the systematic repeated data tampering by a few climate activists on the government dole.
This is the oddest bell shaped curve I have ever seen.
Suppose the doctor says “you may have a condition, I am going to attach leeches to your genitals to fix it.” Are you obligated to accept that solution?
If they are going to tamper with the data, they should adjust it down to compensate for UHI. Not adjust it up. The fact that some sources of possible error have been identified, tells you absolutely nothing about the validity of the data tampering implementation. Climate scientists have no training in signal processing, and no business attempting it.

In 1998, Hansen predicted that parts of Manhattan would be underwater by now, and that crime would shoot up because of the heat..
While doing research 12 or 13 years ago, I met Jim Hansen, the scientist who in 1988 predicted the greenhouse effect before Congress. I went over to the window with him and looked out on Broadway in New York City and said, “If what you’re saying about the greenhouse effect is true, is anything going to look different down there in 20 years?” He looked for a while and was quiet and didn’t say anything for a couple seconds. Then he said, “Well, there will be more traffic.” I, of course, didn’t think he heard the question right. Then he explained, “The West Side Highway [which runs along the Hudson River] will be under water. And there will be tape across the windows across the street because of high winds. And the same birds won’t be there. The trees in the median strip will change.” Then he said, “There will be more police cars.” Why? “Well, you know what happens to crime when the heat goes up.”
When did he say this will happen?
Within 20 or 30 years. And remember we had this conversation in 1988 or 1989.
Does he still believe these things?
Yes, he still believes everything. I talked to him a few months ago and he said he wouldn’t change anything that he said then.
Scientists predicted this would happen. And it did.
