Temperatures in Lubbock cooled from the 1920’s through the 1970’s, then spiked up at the 1998 El Nino, and are now back down to pre-1998 levels. However, Katherine Hayhoe doesn’t allow actual data to interfere with her global warming religious crusade.

In a classic Orwellian exercise, experts have gone from saying an increase in Antarctic sea ice would produce cooling, to saying that the observed increase in Antarctic sea ice is caused by global warming.

Since the experts made this warning, Antarctica sea ice area has steadily increased to record highs.

Gavin Schmidt of NASA responded predictably, by simply altering the temperature record to show warming instead of cooling. As of 2004, he reported a strong cooling trend.

While most of the Earth warmed rapidly during recent decades, surface temperatures decreased significantly over most of Antarctica.

Two years later, NASA magically turned it into a warming trend.

The farcical level of government climate science makes the witch burners in Monty Python and the Holy Grail look like serious human beings.

This graph is updated to the latest GISS temperatures, and is the only real story in global warming science. Since the year 2000, temperatures have remained below Hansen’s zero emissions Scenario C. No matter how much cheating and spinning they do at NCDC and NASA, their scam is dead.

Had we listened to the experts 40 years ago, global cooling and global warming wouldn’t have killed us all last century.

In 1986, “big league climatologists conveyed with great authority” that global warming would kill us all by the year 2000.

Had we listened to the experts in 1986, we wouldn’t all be dead now.

“There is no doubt that climate change is real,” says Walt Meier of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.

“The two poles are just responding in their own unique way to the same global phenomenon.”

He points out that Earth, taken as a whole, is losing sea ice. According to satellite measurements from NASA and the National Snow and Ice Data Center, the Arctic has lost an average of 20,800 square miles of sea ice a year since the late 70s.  Meanwhile, the Antarctic has gained an average of 7,300 square miles per year—not enough to balance loses at the other end of the planet.

Addition is hard for government climate scientists.

Gavin and the clowns at NCDC juggled fake temperatures to get a world record temperature by 0.01 degrees – ahead of the fake Lima climate talks. But regardless of their fake temperatures, it is all a distraction from the fact that temperatures are below Hansen’s zero emissions after the year 2000 Scenario C

And no, 2014 is not a record year by any stretch of the imagination.

Whatever claims they make about “record heat” are far below what climate models predicted, and are just a distraction from the fact that even their own fake temperatures are not alarming.

There are 318 US HCN stations which recorded their min/max readings during morning or night on July 15, 1936. These stations should have an artificial warming bias, because of TOBS double counting of low temperatures in the 1930’s.

Like the full set of stations, these stations show little or no warming since 1920, which tells us that the effect of TOBS is minimal – and that the US is not on a long term warming trend.
