The area of the US covered by drought is down 80% from the same date 80 years ago. This is the exact opposite of what experts predicted, and also the exact opposite of what experts say is happening.

Barack Obama promised to remove politics from science, and has done the exact opposite. His Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell said that she “hopes there are no climate deniers working for her” and Barack Obama is continuously abusive to anyone who doesn’t believe that his token CO2 gestures will save the planet.

The message being sent to government scientists is unmistakable, Toe the official line of the orthodoxy, or your job is at risk. Obama’s tactics are straight out of the 15th century.

The area of sea ice on Earth is higher now than it was on this date 35 years ago. This is the exact opposite of what 97% of climate experts predicted. It is also the exact opposite of what 97% of climate experts report is happening.

Like hundreds of thousands of other North Americans, Europeans and Russians, I have fled the overheated north to spend Thanksgiving on the Riviera Maya. It breaks my heart to have to leave my home for this.

Climate experts and other stoners like Carl Sagan claimed that the high temperatures on Venus are due to the greenhouse effect. This is idiotic because the surface of Venus receives very little sunlight, and in fact goes for months at a time without receiving any sunlight during the long Venusian night. The whole point of the greenhouse effect is that the sun warms the surface and greenhouse gases impede the return of the heat back to space. This obviously can’t happen if there is no sunlight.

The high temperatures on Venus are the result of the very thick troposphere, which creates high atmospheric pressure at the surface – compressing the gases and generating heat like a bicycle pump does.

Every time I bring this up, climate morons make blog posts claiming that I can’t be correct because the bicycle pump cools down after the person pumping stops doing work to compress the air. Apparently they haven’t heard of the Sun, which is continuously doing work to the atmosphere and keeping it inflated. If the Sun turned off, the atmosphere would quickly collapse and freeze, and the atmospheric pressure would drop to near zero.

The adiabatic lapse rate is the temperature gradient through a stable atmosphere. It is nearly the same on Venus as it is on Earth – despite dramatically different atmospheric compositions, temperatures and radiative characteristics of the atmosphere. Gas temperature increases as pressure goes up, as seen at the Grand Canyon. The bottom of the Grand Canyon is hot, and the top is cold.

If Earth’s atmosphere had the same mass as Venus, the temperature at Earth’s surface would be approximately the same as Venus. It has almost nothing to do with the greenhouse effect.

But it is worse than it seems. The world’s greatest climate scientist (James Hansen) wrote his doctoral dissertation claiming that aerosols created the heat on Venus. This same genius now claims that Chinese aerosols are the cause of the global warming pause. You really can’t make this stuff up.

Forty years ago, experts said that cold, snowy winters in the East were caused by global cooling and excess Arctic ice – but now they are caused by global warming and a deficiency of Arctic ice. Isn’t science grand?

Most of my time this week has been spent playing beach volleyball on the Riviera Maya. There are about 4,000 people staying at the resort, and more than half of the volleyball players have been from Colorado – with about half of the Coloradans being Russian immigrants. Almost all of the rest of the players are French speakers from Canada and France.

Taking this down to the most basic level which even the dumbest person couldn’t possibly misinterpret.

The sun warms the Earth’s surface, which causes the Earth’s surface to emit longwave radiation.

Greenhouse gases like H2O and CO2 absorb certain wavelengths of longwave radiation emitted from the Earth’s surface. This adds energy to those molecules, which gets transferred to nearby molecules as heat. Without the greenhouse gas molecules, that energy would have been directly transmitted back into space without warming the atmosphere.

Straw man arguments about things I didn’t say, are not welcome.

Three years ago, climate experts blamed the tornado in Joplin, Missouri on global warming.
