North Carolina Obliterating All August Cold Records

Some years, 70% of North Carolina August temperatures are over 90 degrees. This year it is only 3%.

Missed It By That Much

Al Gore predicted an ice free Arctic in 2014. He was close, and it appears that he will only miss by a little more than the area  of Antarctica

Hansen’s Dice Crap Out Of The Game

ScreenHunter_1907 Aug. 13 09.41

On a hot day in 1988, Hansen told this to the US Congress

His Bold Statement Transforms the Debate On Greenhouse Effect

He held up one die representing the climate for the period 1950-1980. Two sides were white for an average summer, and two other sides were blue for colder-than-average summers. The other two sides were red for hotter-than-average summers. Thus, on a roll of the die for that period, there were two chances in six of having a hot summer at any given location in the country.

Then Dr. Hansen picked up the die for the 1990’s and explained:

If our climate model calculations are approximately correct, the greenhouse warming in the 1990’s will be sufficient to shift the probabilities such that the chance of a hot summer in most of the country will be in the range of 55 to 80 percent. Four sides of the die are red. I believe it is obvious that the man in the street will notice that by then the dice are loaded. There will be more hot summers than normal, and the hottest ones will be hotter than they used to be.”

His forecast couldn’t possibly have done any worse. He gave it during the hottest summer on record in DC, and this year has been second coolest

So far this year, less than 2.5% of days in Maryland have been over 90 degrees, which is the second lowest on record. Compare to the peak year of 1988, when over 19% of days through August 11 were over 90 degrees.

For the entire US, the frequency of 90 degree days has plummeted, and is near record lows

Three Degrees Of NCDC Data Tampering in Maryland

NCDC has turned Maryland’s sixth coldest January-July into the 36th coldest, through a spectacular hockey stick of adjustments.

The measured data before tampering looks like this  – sixth coldest since 1895.

The graph below shows how they accomplished this feat, by cooling the past almost three degrees relative to the present. Particularly impressive is the hockey stick of tampering which has occurred over the past two years, adding almost a full degree on to measured temperatures.

At This Point, What Difference Does It Make?

Hillary Clinton is now trying to distance herself from the disastrous presidency of Barack Obama – which she was a key enabler of.

She is hoping to make herself more popular by piling disloyalty on top of dishonesty and incompetence as her political assets.

There Are Consequences For Electing Morons

Six months ago, the Secretary of State announced that 0.0001 mole fraction Mann-made CO2 was the greatest threat, ever.

Secretary of State John Kerry called on all nations to respond to “the greatest challenge of our generation.”
Kerry, speaking before college students in Jakarta, Indonesia, also criticized climate-change deniers, saying “a few loud interest groups” shouldn’t be given the chance to misdirect the conversation.
Kerry reiterated U.S. President Barack Obama’s assertion in the State of the Union address that climate change is an undeniable fact.

Six months later, US foreign policy is in complete meltdown, because the US elected a totally disconnected sociopath, and he appointed an even bigger moron to be the Secretary of State.

If Only We Had Listened To The Climatologists

In 1975, climatologists were trying to warn politicians to take action against global cooling. Foolishly, the politicians turned a deaf ear, and refused to take even simple remedial steps like melting the Arctic with black soot.

Learning To Analyze Data Like An Arctic Expert

During the first week of July, I predicted that Arctic sea ice extent was about to take a sharp turn towards the median. This was based on very simple geometry, geography, current ice conditions and the weather forecast.

Our friends went ballistic, wrote up a story on ClimateCrocks, and sent an army of idiots over here. Five weeks later some of them are still hanging out here claiming that I was wrong. Apparently you just can’t fix stupid.

My Old Boss – The Whack Job

ASPEN, Colo. — President Jimmy Carter called a tax on carbon emissions “the only reasonable approach” to combating climate change during an appearance here Tuesday, but lamented that even piecemeal actions are unlikely to get through a divided Congress.

Carter, 89, who received a lifetime achievement award on the final day of the American Renewable Energy Day summit, spoke during a luncheon attended by a number of conservationists as well as Ted Turner, T. Boone Pickens and Tom Steyer, the California billionaire pledging to devote his personal finances to political candidates willing to take action on climate change.

The 39th president, who created the Dept. of Energy and advocated for conservation before scientists began to understand the impact of human activity on climate, told AREI’s Sally Ranney that he didn’t have to deal with the same level of partisan gridlock in Congress as President Obama currently does.

I think now the opportunity is even greater for us to take action. But we had very good support then from Republicans, almost as much from Republicans as Democrats,” he said.

I worked for Carter in 1980 developing oil shale on the western slope of Colorado, The project we were doing would have wiped out western Colorado and pumped massive amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The project was Carter’s brainchild, and fortunately was stopped by Reagan as one of his first actions.

Carter is a typical Democrat – he lies about everything.
