Green Energy Kills Great Britain’s Rarest Bird

ScreenHunter_1044 Jul. 16 23.46

A rare white-throated needletail bird was killed by a wind turbine in Scotland on June 26, as horrified birdwatchers looked on. This species, also known as the Needle-tailed swift or spine-tailed swift, is the fastest-flying bird in the world. It has only been seen eight times in the United Kingdom in the last 170 years. Two birdwatchers from Northumberland, England, the northernmost county on the island nation, first spotted the bird on June 24. It is believed that the animal likely came from Siberia.

Oz Frees Itself From The Climate Terrorists

The Senate voted 39 to 32 to axe the 24.15 Australian dollar ($22.60) tax per metric ton of carbon dioxide that was introduced by the center-left Labor government in July 2012. Conservative lawmakers burst into applause as the vote tally was announced.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s conservative coalition government rose to power last year on the promise of getting rid of the tax, assuring voters that removing it would reduce household electricity bills. He plans to replace the measure with a taxpayer-financed AU$2.55 billion fund to pay industry incentives to use cleaner energy.

You Are In A Room With Three Light Switches

The three switches control three light bulbs in another room. You are allowed one (and only one) trip to the other room, at which time you have to determine which switch controls which bulb.

Punishment for failure to solve this, is having to listen to Obama speak for an hour.

This is a simple problem, but if you think like a computer geek you will never solve it.

Another Smoking Gun That TOBS Is Crap

The graph below organizes US HCN stations into two groups. Those that took morning readings (i.e. reset the thermometer in the morning or night) on July 15, 1936 and those which took afternoon readings (reset in the afternoon) on that date.

Both groups show identical downward trends in US maximum summer temperatures since 1910. If TOBS were real, the 1936 morning reset temperatures would be warming much faster than the 1936 afternoon reset temperatures. In actuality, the morning temperatures are cooling slightly faster than the afternoon temperatures.

This shows that TOBS has little or no effect on the temperature, and is simply another excuse to cool the past and turn a long term cooling trend into a warming trend.

TOBS – Even Worse Than It Seems

The graph below is another TOBS killer. It shows the difference in summer temperature between US HCN stations which took morning readings on July 15, 1936 and those which took afternoon readings on that date. The trend is down, indicating that the TOBS upwards adjustments are backwards.

If TOBS were correct, the 1936 afternoon stations would be getting cooler over time relative to the morning stations, but we see the exact opposite – the 1936 morning stations are getting cooler relative to the 1936 afternoon stations.

Putting The TOBS Scam To Bed

One of the funnier claims about TOBS is that the frequency of 100 degree temperatures in the 1930’s was due to double counting at stations which reset their thermometers in the afternoon.

I put that to the test by identifying all of the stations which  reset their thermometers at times other than between 2PM and 8PM on July 15, 1936, and calculating the frequency of 100 degree temperatures at those 329 stations. The result is essential identical as I get for all stations. There is no evidence of double counting. The 1930s were much hotter.

Same is true for 90 degree days. The 1930s were much hotter. No one can claim that these stations reported maximum temperatures too high due to TOBS.

ScreenHunter_1036 Jul. 16 08.52

Summer maximum temperatures at those same stations were much hotter in the 1930s, and have been declining for over 100 years, showing once again that the claims about TOBS strongly affecting maximum temperatures are nonsense.

At some point it will become obvious to everyone that the USHCN temperature adjustments which reverse the long term cooling trend in the US, are bogus and junk science.

Here is the station list :
