Climate change poses a growing security threat and could cause conflict in the Arctic, a group of retired American generals and admirals said on Tuesday.  In a new report, the former military officers said the Pentagon had been caught out by the rapid changes under way in the Arctic because of the melting of the sea ice.  “Things are accelerating in the Arctic faster than we had looked at,” said General Paul Kern, the chairman of the Centre for Naval Analysis Corporation’s military advisory board, which produced the report. “The changes there appear to be much more radical than we envisaged.”

I wonder if this genius has ever looked at any actual data or imagery from the Arctic.

The Arctic is not melting. The area of multi-year ice has has nearly doubled in the last few years. These people have absolutely no clue what they are talking about.

A month ago I heard Trenberth’s insufferbable rant in Boulder, blaming Republicans for causing the warm US winter of 2012. Now he says they caused the cold US winter of 2014.

The extreme cold and snow across the eastern half of the United States this past winter makes global warming seem laughable. But, paradoxically, the blasts of polar air were fueled in part by planet-warming gases, according to a new paper.

The theory, outlined today in the journal Science, builds on research Palmer conducted in the 1980s and resonates with more recent work led by Kevin Trenberth, a climate scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colo.

The big White House push this week is to convince people that rising sea level due to Mann-made CO2 is going to come drown them.

Let’s test that theory out. The graph below plots Manhattan sea level vs atmospheric CO2. When CO2 was below 310 PPM, sea level rose four times faster than it has above 310 PPM.

This experiment took me ten minutes, and completely obliterates the theory that lowering CO2 would reduce sea level rise rates. Why is it that our top scientists can’t perform the most basic tests of correlation with their $29 billion/year?

I was listening to the mayor of Hoboken on NPR this morning, saying how it never used to rain hard there before “climate change.” She is on Obama’s climate change task force, because she is hysterical and has absolutely no idea what she is talking about.

I’m just back from a beautiful hike in the forest, and was thinking about how none of those trees would still be there if it weren’t for an abundant supply of fossil fuels.

Once Obama kills off the coal industry, the US will be almost completely dependent on fracking and/or foreign oil. Greens are generally much too stoned to make that connection.

I drove across Maryland on I-68 on Monday, and was treated to Maryland drivers tailgating 15 feet apart at 70MPH coming down out of the Appalachians. One flat tire and they have a massive 30 car pileup.

These same people are terrified that some NRA member with an AR-15 is going to come shoot them, even though such a thing may have never actually occurred.
