Democrats win House, promise new direction
POSTED: 6:05 p.m. EST, November 8, 2006(CNN) — Democrats promised Wednesday to lead the country in a new direction after winning control of the House for the first time in 12 years in midterm elections.
By early Wednesday, Democrats had picked up at least 29 seats; they needed 15 to capture a majority in the House. Two Democratic seats in Georgia that were targeted by Republicans remained too close to call.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-California, is now poised to become the first female speaker of the House.
Pelosi promised to lead the nation in a new direction “in partnership, not in partisanship.”

Big Government Vs. Small Government
One hundred years ago, children were working 70 hours per week in factories. Government regulations put an end to that.
Fifty years ago, the air and water in the US were filthy. Government regulations put an end to that.
Government passed laws creating the National Parks and other open space which all of us can enjoy.
The Federal Government has done many great things for the US. Unfortunately, it has grown much too large and is now a malignancy, which like any cancer exists only to self-perpetuate. It needs to be scaled back drastically.

Something About Climate Makes People’s Brains Turn Off
News sources on both sides of the aisle (Guardian and Fox News) understand that Obama can’t be trusted to tell the truth about anything.
But when it comes to climate, both of their collective brains go numb, and they think they have to believe the White House.
