AFP: Next climate warming report will be dramatically worse: UN

Obama promised to take politics out of science. What he meant by that was that he planned to make science 100% political, and remove all science from science.

Prof Stavins told The Mail on Sunday yesterday that he had been especially concerned by what happened at a special ‘contact group’. He was one of only two scientists present, surrounded by ‘45 or 50’ government officials.

He said almost all of them made clear that ‘any text that was considered inconsistent with their interests and positions in multilateral negotiations was treated as unacceptable.’

Top climate expert’s sensational claim of government meddling in crucial UN report

A top US academic has dramatically revealed how government officials forced him to change a hugely influential scientific report on climate change to suit their own interests.

Harvard professor Robert Stavins electrified the worldwide debate on climate change on Friday by sensationally publishing a letter online in which he spelled out the astonishing interference.

He said the officials, representing ‘all the main countries and regions of the world’ insisted on the changes in a late-night meeting at a Berlin conference centre two weeks ago.

Three quarters of the original version of the document ended up being deleted.

Prof Stavins claimed the intervention amounted to a serious ‘conflict of interest’ between scientists and governments. His revelation is significant because it is rare for climate change experts to publicly question the process behind the compilation of reports on the subject.

According to NASA, temperatures were very cold in 1923, much colder than the 1970’s – when Arctic ice was rapidly expanding.

If you believe the NASA temperature record like Mosher does, then the Arctic was rapidly melting when it was cold, and rapidly freezing when it was warm.

Telltale signs are everywhere —from the unexpected persistence and thickness of pack ice in the waters around Iceland to the southward migration of a warmth-loving creature like the armadillo from the Midwest. Since the 1940s the mean global temperature has dropped about 2.7° F. Although that figure is at best an estimate, it is supported by other convincing data. When Climatologist George J. Kukla of Columbia University‘s Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory and his wife Helena analyzed satellite weather data for the Northern Hemisphere, they found that the area of the ice and snow cover had suddenly increased by 12% in 1971 and the increase has persisted ever since.

For most of the 20th century, the scientific consensus ridiculed anyone who believed that the continents moved.

By 1980, the scientific consensus gave up on blocking progress in geology, and turned their attention to blocking progress in climate science.

In 2007, Nobel laureate Al Gore said the Arctic is “falling off a cliff” and the ice will be gone by 2014.  Like all good climate experts, he based his projection on six weeks worth of data.

Arctic sea ice is right where it was 10 years ago.

MANY scientists are so sure that the sea level will rise visibly in the coming decades that they are advising planners to adopt new strategies now. A predicted rise in sea level of one foot within the next 30 to 40 years will drive much of the Atlantic and Gulf shoreline inward by a hundred feet and some of it by more than a thousand feet, according to marine geologists.
