By switching from global warming to “climate change” they now blame every weather event on humans, and lack of action by politicians.

This provides a mechanism to blackmail politicians. Any weather event like Hurricane Sandy or a hot summer in Australia is now used to pummel local politicians, few of which have the knowledge or integrity to withstand the pressure.

That is why a knowledge of climate history is so important, and why I have devoted thousands of hours to studying it. Politicians need to be aware of and be able to cite specific weather events from the past, in order to counter the the endless claims of climate change and unprecedented weather.

The world is following the same path of ignorance as in the 16th century, when 30,000 people were burned at the stake for “cooking the weather.”

In the microprocessor business, companies employ teams nearly as large as the design teams, whose job it is to find things wrong with the design. It is catastrophic to the company to have a flawed microprocessor make it into consumer hands, so companies devote huge resources to making sure it doesn’t happen. Verification engineers are rewarded for finding as many bugs as possible.

Government climate science has no analogy. They don’t want serious people examining their work, because it is complete crap and is deliberately broken. Instead, they have pal review and FOIA avoidance to streamline getting junk science into the hands of journalists and politicians.

78% of the US has been below normal temperature since October 1, but Southern California was the important place for measuring the climate.

In 2012, the winter maximum Arctic ice extent was high, and alarmists screamed that it meant nothing because the multi-year ice was disappearing.

This year NSIDC reports a large increase in multi-year ice, and alarmists are screaming that the winter maximum Arctic ice extent is “fifth lowest since 1979”

(While we are exploring the depths of their disordered minds, it should be pointed out that there is zero correlation between winter maximum and summer minimum over the past decade.)

Fox News reports :

The massive (Gallup) survey, released on Monday, shows the number of uninsured indeed has fallen to its lowest level in years, likely thanks to the Affordable Care Act.

What they are trying to say is that the number of uninsured Americans is up more than 8% since Obama was elected.  According to the Gallup numbers, there are at least 3.7 million more uninsured now, than on the day Obama was elected.

It is difficult to win an argument when the people on your side have no critical thinking skills.

Changes to GISS US temperatures between 2001 and 2014 assisted in multiple efforts.

1. Reducing the 1940s spike
2. Hiding the decline
3. Making the hockey stick

This was on top of a very large and similarly shaped change between 2000 and 2001

Due to improvements in temperature recording technology. USHCN has to exponentially increase recent temperature adjustments.

The Arctic has seen a huge increase in multi-year sea ice. The Great Lakes have record ice. Antarctica has record sea ice. Global sea ice area is above normal. Last year was the quietest year for hurricanes and tornadoes on record in the US, and the longest period without a major (cat 3-5) hurricane strike. The US is having its coldest six months in 100 years.

And NOAA says it is one of the five hottest years on record.
