Democracy In Action In Maryland
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Days after a Republican was elected mayor of Annapolis, City Council members say they will revisit legislation that would strip the mayor’s office of much of its power.
Democratic Alderman Ross Arnett of Ward 8 tells The Capital he will introduce a charter amendment to move Annapolis to a council-manager style of government. The city manager would report directly to the City Council, not the mayor.
Under Arnett’s legislation, the mayor’s post would be largely ceremonial. The mayor would retain a single vote on the council. Arnett says the change would stabilize the city’s management.
If the measure is approved, it would mean the Democratic-dominated council would be removing the powers of the first Republican mayor elected since 1997.

Can’t They Just Blame Bush?
The ObamaCare Dozen
The Democrats who voted for the debacle are now scrambling for cover.
The torrents of Affordable Care Act monsoon season aren’t letting up, so Democrats are scrambling to help the victims: namely, their own careers. The Senators up for re-election in competitive states in 2014 are starting to panic, though they still aren’t offering solutions for anything other than their own growing political jeopardy.
Fifteen Senate Democrats plus Colorado’s Michael Bennet who chairs the Senatorial Campaign Committee sat down at the White House Wednesday, and they want all and sundry to know that they let President Obama have it. Alaska’s Mark Begich put out a statement saying he chewed out the big cheese for “absolutely unacceptable” mismanagement and “an understandable crisis in confidence.” He must have drafted it in advance.
Oregon’s Jeff Merkley chimed in to report that even after the two-hour encounter session that was not on the public schedule, he was still “very frustrated” and “I remain deeply convinced that this is a ‘show-me’ moment.” Asked by Politico if Democrats were losing credibility, an anonymous attendee said, “You got to have it, to lose it.”

A New Opportunity For Witch Burners
Salem Witch Trials Followed Cold Weather
By: Natalie Wolchover
Published: 04/20/2012 01:12 PM EDT on Lifes Little MysteriesHistorical records indicate that, worldwide, witch hunts occur more often during cold periods, possibly because people look for scapegoats to blame for crop failures and general economic hardship. Fitting the pattern, scholars argue that cold weather may have spurred the infamous Salem witch trials in 1692.
Salem Witch Trials Followed Cold Weather, New Research Finds
Top climate scientists, the President, George Clooney and other celebrities are now blaming every weather event on global warming skeptics. They are like a bunch of old ladies in the 17th century gossiping how the weather never used to be like this before “that woman” moved into the neighborhood.

Snow Is A Thing Of The Past Update
Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past
Monday 20 March 2000
Global warming, the heating of the atmosphere by increased amounts of industrial gases, is now accepted as a reality by the international community. Average temperatures in Britain were nearly 0.6°C higher in the Nineties than in 1960-90, and it is estimated that they will increase by 0.2C every decade over the coming century. Eight of the 10 hottest years on record occurred in the Nineties.
However, the warming is so far manifesting itself more in winters which are less cold than in much hotter summers. According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”.
“Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” he said.

Nine Of The Ten Deadliest Atlantic Hurricanes Occurred During Years NASA Says Were Cold
The tenth deadliest Atlantic hurricane occurred during 1909, which NASA says was the coldest on record. The only hurricane on that list which came during a warm year was Mitch in 1998.
Climate morons claim that global warming makes hurricanes worse, but the data says that is nonsense.
