I have been active with environmental issues for almost my entire life. In 1974, I testified in support of a new wilderness area at a Congressional Subcommittee hearing held in Kanab, Utah. (My testimony is still on the Congressional Record.) I was a Sierra Club member and worked as a wilderness ranger in New Mexico for two summers in the 1980s.

The way the process used to work, was that Congress held hearings, the public provided input – and hopefully decisions were made based on that input.

But Obama has completely perverted the process, bypassing Congress and the public, and using unelected and unaccountable political hacks to force his economy destroying agenda on the American people.

He needs to be impeached immediately.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. military stands ready to strike Syria at once if President Barack Obama gives the order, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said Tuesday as the United States prepared to formally declare that chemical weapons had been used in the Syrian civil war.

Democrats believe that they can end bad weather by taxing people for driving to work and heating their homes. They also believe that they can stop Chicago minority gangs from shooting children, by taxing law abiding gun owners trying to protect themselves from Chicago minority gangs.

A pair of Democratic lawmakers are proposing steep new taxes on handguns and ammunition, and tying the revenues to programs aimed at preventing gun violence.

Called the “Gun Violence Prevention and Safe Communities Act,” the bill sponsored by William Pascrell, D-N.J., and Danny Davis, D-Ill., would nearly double the current 11 percent tax on handguns, while raising the levy on bullets and cartridges from 11 percent to 50 percent.

Either that, or Mikey’s robust Arctic model must have predicted the huge increase in ice this year.

EPA chief warns against climate change on visit to Alaska glacier

PORTAGE GLACIER, ALASKA — As she marveled at the site of a shrinking Alaska glacier, the newly installed leader of the Environmental Protection Agency said Monday that the president told her that fighting climate change should be her primary focus.

“The president’s main priority for me was to recognize when I was coming in here that this is going to be a significant challenge and one in which the administration was going to begin to tackle,” said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy.

Only a complete imbecile (i.e. Barack Obama) would believe that he could stop interglacial processes which have been going on for 20,000 years.

As you enter Glacier Bay in Southeast Alaska you will cruise along shorelines completely covered by ice just 200 years ago.

Explorer Captain George Vancouver found Icy Strait choked with ice in 1794, and Glacier Bay was barely an indented glacier. That glacier was more than 4000 ft. thick, up to 20 miles or more wide, and extended more than 100 miles to the St.Elias Range of mountains.

By 1879 naturist John Muir found that the ice had retreated 48 miles up the bay. By 1916 the Grand Pacific Glacier headed Tarr inlet 65 miles from Glacier Bay’s mouth.
