A National Discussion – Not A Decree

Obama’s approach is to do everything by decree and presidential mandate. He skips the discussion, debate, due process, checks and balances, Congress, courts, Constitutional mandates, and most importantly the will of the people. He gets half the country to go along with this by keeping them in a constant state of fear.

He is trying to run a frustrated dictatorship, not a presidency of the US.

Obama Planning To Place WMD’s In Every City And Town In America

I have talked quite a bit about the dangers of CNG vehicles, but the much bigger danger is the CNG infrastructure required to maintain them. CNG pipelines, tanks and fuel depots would cover the country.

These are all ideal targets for terrorists. All they need to do is violate the integrity of the high pressure pipeline or storage tank, and massive amounts of methane will immediately disperse across a wide area. One spark and a massive explosion occurs, like what happened in Brenham, Texas.

Building this infrastructure would provide America’s enemies a simple and nearly indefensible way to destroy the country in a matter of a few minutes.

It has happened before, under much less extreme confditions. In 1906, San Francisco was destroyed by fires caused by ruptured low-pressure gas lines after an earthquake.

What Obama is proposing is vastly more dangerous. Which makes me wonder – is he an idiot, or is he planning genocide? His justification is to reduce CO2 emissions by a few percent. Complete insanity.

Florida’s Coldest March On Record (So Far)

Temperatures in Florida so far this month have been the coldest on record.

It is likely that by the end of the month, the average temperature will rise and 2013 may not end up being the coldest – but it should be in the bottom five and possibly the bottom two.

Your New O-bomb-a Car

You proudly drive home your new CNG powered Obamacar, with a 200 atmosphere pressure bomb compressed methane tank. Over the next few years, you repeatedly cycle the pressure, filling and emptying the and temperature, with temperatures ranging between -30F and 120F.

Good thing that this sort of mechanical stress doesn’t affect the integrity of the metal tank, because you certainly wouldn’t want the neighborhood to explode when you get in an accident.

A number of people here are conflating CNG and LPG. Obama is talking about CNG, which requires 100X as much pressure as LPG.

LPG is safe, CNG isn’t – unless you have a tank with extremely thick walls – which is prohibitively expensive and heavy.

You Can’t Score If You Can’t Place The Ball Between The Uprights

Chelsea is doing everything right and even have the referee cheating for them, but they can’t put the ball in the back of the net. They should have had about seven goals in the first half.

Breakthrough Discovery From Joe Romm

Time only moves forward! Joe should get the Nobel Prize.

What is he trying to reverse? The longest period in the past 150 years without a major hurricane strike? Sixteen years of no warming?

The amazing thing is that Joe gets paid to spew mindless gibberish.

Thirty-Three Years Later, Corrupt Cop Finally Resigns

Thirty-three years ago, the Fort Collins Police Department framed a high school kid for a murder he didn’t commit. They had no evidence to support the charge, and his only link to the crime is that he spotted the body. The key bad cop finally resigned today.

Lt. James Broderick, a central figure in the case that led to the wrongful conviction Tim Masters for murder, has resigned after nearly 33 years with Fort Collins police.

Broderick was on paid administrative leave with the department since June 2010, when he was indicted by a grand jury on charges of felony perjury related to his handling of the case against Masters.

Those charges were dismissed because the statutes of limitations had expired, but Broderick was indicted again on similar charges in 2011. Those charges also were dismissed, a decision that was appealed to the Colorado Supreme Court.

No Green For St. Patty’s

March 17, and we still don’t have the faintest hint of green or springtime in Northern Colorado.

Everything is running about 2-3 weeks later than normal, due to an overheated atmosphere.

Shock News : President Doesn’t Know What He Is Talking About

In his State of the Disunion Speech, Obama announced that it was time to end wildfires in Colorado – based on the overwhelming judgment of science. He had me completely convinced, until I saw this sign on my hike this morning adjacent to last year’s big burn.

Wow! So pine forests need fire?

Perhaps it would make more sense to stop idiots from building subdivisions in the middle of pine forests, rather than sending America back to the dark ages trying to control the climate. Perhaps Obama should quit listening exclusively to the overwhelming judgment of a few criminals posing as scientists?

Another Chinook is coming in this afternoon, and fire crews are working frantically to smother the smoldering regions from Friday’s fire.

All Iowa Stations Set Their All-Time Record Maximum Prior To 1940

There are 21 HCN stations in Iowa. All of them set their all-time record maximum temperature prior to 1940.

James Hansen says that CO2 loads the dice for heatwaves, which he says were almost impossible before 1988.
