A teenage girl–an honor student who had just performed at President Obama’s inaugural–was gunned down Tuesday afternoon in the Kenwood neighborhood, just blocks from the high school she attended.
CBS 2’s Mike Parker reports the victim, 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton, was taking shelter from the rain with a group of 10 to 12 teenagers under a canopy in Vivian Gordon Harsh Park on the 4500 block of South Oakenwald Avenue around 2:30 p.m., when someone jumped a fence, ran up to them, and opened fire.

Just days before, Hadiya performed with her high school band at President Obama’s inauguration.

COASTAL BEND — For just the fourth time in the 126 years that the National Weather Service has records, the mercury in Corpus Christi has reached 90 degrees in January.

The other 90-degree January days on record are Jan. 7, 1989 (90 degrees); Jan. 23, 1972 (90) and Jan. 30, 1971 (91).

“I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.”

Now Hillary says you are a terrorist if you disagree with the Obama administration.

If Obama ever actually fired a shotgun, he would have known that they are really loud and that the press corpse at Camp David would have heard him.

He really needs to screen his lies a little more carefully before presenting them to the public.

Hansen says that Obama’s chance to fix the climate expired at the end of his first term, but then MIT gave him another four years.

Meanwhile, Time Magazine says that there is nothing that Obama can do, because China and India now control the climate. They also say that climate change is the Republican’s fault.

Enquiring minds want to know. Is bad weather caused by Obama, the Republicans or the Chinese? Are we past the tipping point, or does that come at the end of his second term?

CHILLY weather in summer is a little out of the ordinary for Adelaide, which is in the midst of a cold stretch not seen since 2004, the Bureau of Meteorology says.

“In terms of the run of days below 30 degrees, I think we’ll end up with about 11 all up,” Climate Services manager Darren Ray said.

“That’s moderately unusual for this time of year.

“The last time we had a run as long as that was 2004, so it’s probably our longest run of days below 30 at this time of the year since 2004, but it does happen.”

U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), co-chairs of a new task force on climate

U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, one of Congress’s few outspoken environmental advocates, is making a new argument for legislative action on climate change: Lawmakers who oppose future measures to reverse global warming, Whitehouse argues, will pay a price — in votes.

Whitehouse, who last Thursday announced the formation of a bicameral task force to address the issue, compared climate change to social issues like gay rights and immigration reform
