Visualizing The Hansen Effect

August 6, 2012

Recent heat waves that have triggered wildfires, droughts, and heat-related deaths in the United States and around the globe “almost certainly would not have occurred” without global warming—and will become more routine in coming years, NASA climate scientist James Hansen says.

Hansen and colleagues now say that such analogies are no longer adequate: The loading of the climate die is now complete, and the effects are plain to see.

Heat Waves “Almost Certainly” Due to Global Warming“

Hansen’s remarks were greeted by record cold

Rewriting History To Push A Political Agenda

My sense is that the destruction of the US temperature record is a scandal comparable to any in US history, but it is certainly not the first time history has been rewritten to push a political agenda. That was a central theme of George Orwell’s 1984.

Other famous variations of this theme include

  • Nazi book burning
  • Holocaust denial
  • Taliban destroying Afghan archaeology
  • Turkey erasing the Armenian genocide
  • Soviet revision of Russian history and theft of historical artifacts
  • US press hiding Barack Obama’s history

Feel free to add to the list.

Joe Bastardi Discusses The Record August Weather Turnaround

Guest Post By Joe Bastardi

————————————————————————————————————–

Greatest Summer turn around ever?

If we take the hot Julys of 52,53,54,34,36,10,11

And look at the August average of what follows

we notice the mean of all this can be looked at to be slightly cooler but still very hot

But given what is going on now, the past  5 days,  plus the forecasted upcoming 16, with another record cold air mass coming this weekend into the areas ( another because we had one this past weekend)  that was in the heart of the NOAA  Hot July area, this should be one of the greatest, if not  THE NUMBER ONE GREATEST,  July to August turn arounds in temps in US history. The 16 day means of over 5 degrees C below normal seem to cold to me ( I cant  believe it can be 10 below  for over 2 weeks, if it is, that could be the coldest 2 week period in US history  in August for the plains, though I have not looked back at all of them

but this is amazingly cold. These models are on our Weatherbell.com site being developed by  the one and only Dr Ryan Maue.

No Ice At Barrow?

How is it that the satellites are missing all this ice?

//ARCTIC.IO/OBSERVATIONS/8/2012-08-14/8-N71.799266-W153.693448

The Arctic rowers stuck at Barrow are complaining that the ice-free claims they are being told are incorrect.  There is lots of ice blocking Barrow now, and it is not showing up in anyone’s maps – other than Environment Canada.

The fraudsters at the University of Bremen think the Arctic is almost ice free.

Shock News : Top Cycling State Is Also The Thinnest

The bike trails here in Fort Collins are packed with commuters, and we are also the thinnest state.

By contrast, in Columbia, Maryland I spent 2-3 hours a day on high quality dedicated bike trails, and maybe saw a dozen other cyclists over a period of six months.

Mississippi fattest, Colorado thinnest in new federal obesity statistics

Ready for this one? Americans are fat. More accurate, Americans are still fat.

The federal government released its “obesity map” on Monday, outlining the rates of obesity and how rates in the states compare. Colorado gets the svelte bragging rights, with 20.7% of its adults obese. At the other end of the scale is Mississippi, with a rate of 34.9%.
