Mr. Praline: ‘Ello, Miss?

Owner: What do you mean “miss”?

Mr. Praline: I’m sorry, I have a cold. I wish to make a complaint!

Owner: We’re closin’ for lunch.

Mr. Praline: Never mind that, my lad. I wish to complain about this sea level report what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique.

Owner: Oh yes, the, uh, one foot of sea level rise in the next 20 years…What’s,uh…What’s wrong with it?

Mr. Praline: I’ll tell you what’s wrong with it, my lad. ‘sea level`s not rising, that’s what’s wrong with it!

Owner: No, no, ‘e’s uh,…it’s resting.

Mr. Praline: Look, matey, I know a junk science report when I see one, and I’m looking at one right now.

Belief In Catastrophic Global Warming Is Consistent With Being Stupid

“Can we say this heat wave is a smoking gun for climate change? No,” MacDonald said. “But … it’s consistent with what we would anticipate.”

As a heat wave rolls across U.S., scientists predict more to come – latimes.com

Can we say that belief in catastrophic global warming is a smoking gun that a person’s IQ is sub-standard?   No. But it is consistent with what we would anticipate.

Colorado 2011 Flashback : Record Snow Kept Rocky Mountain National Park Inaccessible

The LA  Times claimed today that Colorado is in a ten year drought, and that the fires are part of a trend.

As usual, they are lying. Last year at this time we were experiencing flooding caused by the record snowfall.

White House Says That The Supreme Court Obamacare Decision Was Wrong

Justice Roberts flip-flopped in support of Obama at the last minute, because Obamacare was a tax. Now the White House says he was wrong because it isn’t a tax.

The White House insisted Sunday the consequence for Americans not having health insurance is a penalty fee, despite the Supreme Court ruling that it is a tax, and said the debate on the Affordable Care Act should finally end.

Apparently the supreme court decision was in error, and Obamacare should be tossed. The debate is over.

White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew said on “Fox News Sunday” that “when the Supreme Court rules” the country “has a final decision” and that the presidential campaigns should focus on the economy and jobs.  “

What we need to do is go forward with the implementation” of the law, Lew said.  He also argued the health care law will not result in a tax increase on the middle class, despite a Congressional Budget Office report that it would result in a roughly $27 million increase over the next 10 years.

Heidi Should Stick To Her Area Of Expertise – If She Has One

Heidi, you have no idea what you are talking about. Colorado forests can’t exist without fire.

Ecological Adaptations:

Lodgepole pine is adapted to high mountain slopes at elevations usually above 6,000 feet. Reproduction is best attained in areas that have been cleared either by man’s activity or as a result of fire.

Rocky Mountain lodgepole pine produces serotinous cones which do not open at maturity because they are sealed shut by a resinous bond between the cone scales. These cones remain on the tree for years and require temperatures between 113 and 140 degrees F (45-60 C) to melt the resin and release the seed. In nature, only forest fires generate temperatures of this magnitude within a tree’s crown.

Joe Bastardi Puts Recent Extreme Weather In Perspective

Guest Post By Joe Bastardi

No question this a field day for the heat,  and part of the reason is a) its darn hot and b)  there was a wild weather event that occurred with the Derecho.   But  for the people convinced that  these events  are a sign of  an AGW apocalypse ,  try to answer these questions

After big tornado outbreaks to start the year and then in mid April. What happened to that? Recall the hysteria  that was occurring with it, saying here we go again.   Since I stated loudly  the tornado season would go into the tank, I think I have the right to ask you where did they all go. From the fastest start ever, we are now near the 25%  of normal  range, meaning since then, and even with the mid  April outbreak and extra tornadoes   form Debby, this has probably been  a top 5 slow April and May  Opposite of last year,  and may I remind you on  National TV,  I said would be one of the busiest Aprils and Mays on record.

SO if its your precious  AGW,  how did  I, who does not believe a lick in it,  nail the forecasts of  the big event , and then the crash we see this year,  if it is because of what you seem to think?  I am sorry for the apparent “tooting” of my horn,  but  again forecasts before the facts based on  sound meteorology  trump  voodoo agenda  driven explanations after.

The heat.  Very impressive, no doubt.  Much like the last time the PDO flipped to cold while the amo was  warm.. in the 1950s

LA Times : It’s Not About Telling The Truth Any More

LA Times parroting the big lie without doing any fact checking.

Global warming in our backyard
The reality of climate change is hitting home. It’s time to plan for hotter days and rising sea levels.

It’s not just about the polar bears anymore. There was a time when the conversation about global warming was dominated by news about the Arctic, where its effects are the most easily visible to the lay public. The narrative involved shrinking glaciers and the ferocious white bears that live part of their lives on drifting ice floes that now are melting.

LA Times Piles On The BS

Long, hot summer: Wildfires thrive on drought, heat and wind

Hundreds of homes have burned in Colorado and other Western states, and it could be just the start.

By Bettina Boxall, Los Angeles Times
July 2, 2012, 5:00 a.m.

After several years of relatively benign fire seasons, the West is headed into a hot, dry summer of potentially ferocious blazes like the ones that have scorched Colorado in recent weeks.

Nonsense. There is a very strong flow of monsoonal moisture pouring into the southwest now which normally continues for the rest of the summer. The fire season here is May and June, and sometimes in the autumn.

The wildfires that have already destroyed more than 700 homes and outbuildings along Colorado’s Front Range and blackened hundreds of thousands of acres of New Mexico wilderness are not likely to be the season’s last for one simple reason: drought.

With 400 to 600% of normal precipitation forecast along the Front Range and in New Mexico’s Gila wilderness, I think Bettina doesn’t know what she is talking about.

10-Day Precipitation Outlook for the Conterminous U.S.

“This year, fires are going big,” Tom Harbour, fire and aviation director for the U.S. Forest Service, said last week. “We’ve had some really extraordinary runs … fires that are running 10 miles in lighter fuels. Fires that are running miles in forested areas.”

A dry La Nina winter and a paltry, quick-melting snowpack in much of the West have set the stage for another incendiary summer, compounding the effects of a long-term drought that has gripped the seven-state Colorado River basin for more than a decade.

Complete crap. She started out the article mentioning that we have had several years of benign fire seasons. That was because we have been having very heavy snowfall. Lake Powell has gained 55 feet of water since 2004, because of record snowmelt and runoff in the Colorado River Basin.

International Business Times Goes Full Stupid

I’m going to show you just how stupid. They are convinced that the heatwave in the US is proof of global warming.

Look how hot Nebraska and Kansas are in their map below!

As US Fries In Heat Wave, Half A World Away, Eggheads Wonder If Global Warming Is Real – International Business Times

June of 1933 also had a heatwave, and Hartington, Nebraska was very hot. In fact it was so hot, that high temperatures during June 1933 averaged 9.2 degrees warmer than June 2012.

U.S. Historical Climatology Network

June 1933 had six days over 100F, compared to zero days in 2012. June 10, 1933 was 106F.  June 1933 had twenty-five days over 90F, compared to five days in 2012.

There are lots of idiots out there who know nothing about past weather, yet are ready to declare that a few hot days prove global warming.
