The Yin And Yang Of Hot Weather

Nature is forced to abide by this weird principle – what goes up, must come down.

When air rises, it cools and sometimes condenses moisture. This happens in regions of low pressure.

Eventually the dried out air has to come back to the ground. It sinks in regions of high pressure, and warms. People who are currently experiencing sinking warm air, normally believe that they are victims of CO2 poisoning ™EPA.  People who are currently experiencing  rising cool air, normally believe that they are victims of missing sea ice, also cause by CO2.

The important thing to remember is that CO2 is the most powerful force in the universe, and it fundamentally controls all aspects of our lives.

We Are The Champions

According to this map featured on Drudge, Fort Collins has the hottest heat index in the west – besides a few spots in Arizona and California. It also says that we feel hotter than DC.

It doesn’t feel very hot, but at least we have electricity and Eric Kartman.

Julia Talking Green Jobs

Embarking on a two-week blitz to sell the tax, the Prime Minister declares in The Australian today that the carbon price will drive a transformation in the nation’s economy and create tens of thousands of new green jobs over the next 20 years.

Tax worth fighting for: Julia Gillard’s carbon blitz begins | The Australian

Great. She can slap the tens of thousands of green jobs on top of the five million green jobs which Obama has already created.

Misinterpreting The Arctic

Several people are concerned that the ice in the Beaufort Sea appears to be “low concentration” See the green rectangle below

arctic.seaice.color.000.png (900×900)

Satellite imagery shows what is really going on. The Beaufort Sea is full of large chunks of thick multi-year ice. When the wind blows, interstitial space opens up between the rounded blocks.

It will take a long time to melt through all that thick ice, and I don’t know if the remaining eight weeks is long enough.

The 1993 Texas Fire

In 1993, the US government burned up 75 people in Waco, Texas which began Eric Holder`s career of assisting in the death of Texans.

33. Dayland Gent, 3, American

Prior to 1993, his career of assisting in the killing of Americans had been limited to Oklahoma.

Hopefully some of this will be discussed after he is arrested and hauled before Congress.

Ahren Stroming Article Proves That Stupidity Can No Longer Be Ignored

Colorado Springs Wildfire Proves Climate Change Can No Longer Be Ignored

After over a week of burning, approximately 17,000 acres of timber in and around the Pike National Forest has been destroyed, along with almost 350 homes. At least two people have been killed in the fire, and some 35,000 more have been evacuated from their homes while crews battle to keep the blaze in check. In terms of damage done to private property, the Waldo Canyon Fire is the most destructive in Colorado state history. The previous record? The still-smoldering High Park fire just two hours to the north.

Colorado Springs Wildfire Proves Climate Change Can No Longer Be Ignored

In 1871, the Peshtigo fire burned 1,200,000 million acres and killed 2,000 people. The 1871 fire burned seventy times as much forest and killed one thousand times as many people.

As far as Colorado fires go, the 1898 Colorado fire was 100 times larger than the fires this year.  They didn’t have cable TV in 1898, and people were smart enough not to build hundreds of homes right next to each other in the middle of pine forest – which naturally burns every 20 years.

Stroming confuses his own ignorance and stupidity with climate change.

Could Katherine Have Stopped The Peshtigo Fire?

In 1871, a massive fire around the Great Lakes killed thousands of people and burned millions of acres. Chicago burned to the ground the same day. Katherine Hayhoe tells us that these fires are caused by man-made CO2.

Hayhoe, along with an international team of scientists, discovered that climate change will disrupt fire patterns across over 80 percent of the globe by the end of the century. Scientists found compelling agreement among long term models that more fires would occur at mid-to-high latitude areas like North America (shorter term models present more variability).”

Can we disrupt the fire patterns enough to prevent mega-fires like 1871 and 1910, which were much larger than anything we have experienced recently?

“There’s no question that humans have altered the background atmosphere on a global scale,” Hayhoe said. “And there’s also no question humans have altered the environment on the local and regional level,” she said, by living near forests and choosing how to manage them. “Climate change is often the final straw in a lot of those cases.”

Can Julia Fix Darwin?

According to Phil Jones, temperatures in Darwin’s grid cell (-12.5,132.5) have been falling since the 1880s, which was also the hottest decade.

Can Julia’s global warming tax stop this alarming trend?
