NASA’s Amateur Hack Vs. The Professionals

Hansen forecasts a strong El Nino almost every year, because he is desperate to get GISS above zero emissions scenario C.

Check out his spectacularly failed ENSO forecast from July, 2011. ESSIC had it almost perfect, while Hansen had it inverted.

Hansen is leading the pack again this year with his El Nino forecasts..

Un-Christian Anti-Science Monitor : Lake Powell To Run Dry In Nine Years

Lakes Powell could run dry by 2021 – CSMonitor.com

Lake Powell is 50 feet deeper than it was eight years ago, and is increasingly in depth linearly – despite record releases from the dam last year.

Last October, CSM warned of the disappearance of Bering Sea ice – right before the Bering Sea set their all time record for most ice.

CSM is considered a responsible publication, because they mindlessly parrot idiotic global warming propaganda.

1930s Drought Animation

At one time, Hansen talked about the horrific heat and drought of the 1930s, but he has been working hard over the last few years to erase that inconvenient decade.

Hansen 1999:

Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought. The drought of 1999 covered a smaller area than the 1988 drought, when the Mississippi almost dried up. And 1988 was a temporary inconvenience as compared with repeated droughts during the 1930s “Dust Bowl” that caused an exodus from the prairies, as chronicled in Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath…..

in the U.S. there has been little temperature change in the past 50 years, the time of rapidly increasing greenhouse gases — in fact, there was a slight cooling throughout much of the country

America’s Wind Power Leader Facing Critical Blackouts

Texas led the charge into wind energy, and is now facing blackouts – just when they need the electricity the most.

awea.org/learnabout/publications/upload/Texas.pdf

The state is facing potential power shortages that could leave you with out electricity this summer and you might not know it, until it happens.

But because so many people use so much electricity during hot summer months, it knocks that number down to less than 10-percent.

That’s when we are at a higher risk of having uncontrolled black outs.

In order to make sure that doesn’t happen, ERCOT is asking customers to be conservative with their electricity.

Otherwise they will tell electric companies to shut off power to portions of their customers.

The Methane Big Lie

The world has enough natural gas to power it for many centuries. The idea of clean, abundant natural gas is terrifying to people who have invested heavily in nearly worthless technologies like solar and wind powered electricity. This has led to idiotic claims that methane is 20X worse than CO2 and will cause mankind to go extinct.

The truth is that methane has almost no effect on Earth’s radiative balance. It has only a couple of narrow absorption bands, both of which overlap with much more abundant H2O. The atmospheric mole fraction of CH4 is less than 0.000002

Man Made Global Warming In Alaska

The ice offshore at Barrow is covered with dirt which has blown off the roads. This causes the ice to melt much faster.

Barrow Sea Ice Webcam

UHI has caused more than 2C winter warming in Barrow.

THE URBAN HEAT ISLAND IN WINTER AT BARROW, ALASKA

During winter (December 2001–March 2002), the urban area averaged 2.2 °C warmer than the hinterland. The strength of the UHI increased as the wind velocity decreased, reaching an average value of 3.2 °C under calm (<2 m s?1 ) conditions and maximum single-day magnitude of 6 °C. UHI magnitude generally increased with decreasing air temperature in winter, re?ecting the input of anthropogenic heat to maintain interior building temperatures. On a daily basis, the UHI reached its peak intensity in the late evening and early morning. There was a strong positive relation between monthly UHI magnitude and natural gas production/use. Integrated over the period September–May, there was a 9% reduction in accumulated freezing degree days in the urban area. The evidence suggests that urbanization has contributed to early snowmelt in the village.

Hansen tells us that January temperatures in Barrow have warmed half a degree since 1930, which means that an honest reporting would be about 1.5C cooling in Alaska over the last 80 years.
