Hansen’s disciples are in a complete tizzy over Roy Spencer’s model. Some complain that his model matches the data, but for the wrong reasons. Others complain that his model isn’t stable over thousand year periods.

They prefer Hansen’s model – which has proven itself completely worthless on short time scales, and forced them to come up with brain damaged arguments about China and a missing chunk of ice in the Hudson Bay last December.

As CO2 has increased, the number of US hurricane strikes has decreased. At 650 ppm hurricanes cease to exist!

As CO2 has increased, the number of F3-F5 tornadoes has decreased. Extrapolating the trend, we can see that at 480 ppm there would be zero severe tornadoes.

Dessler says that Spencer’s model matches the data, but it is still wrong.

“He’s taken an incorrect model, he’s tweaked it to match observations, but the conclusions you get from that are not correct,” Andrew Dessler, a professor of atmospheric sciences at Texas A&M University, said of Spencer’s new study.

Arthur Smith says that Spencer mismatches the data by a few trillion degrees.

 Arthur Smith has now done the full mathematical proof for what I showed by playing around with MATLAB.  UPDATED UPDATE:  Arthur went on to show that, given the mathematical form of Spencer’s model, he would have to start his model at?To = negative a few trillion degrees in 1000 A.D. to have his model produce a suitable anomaly in 1900 to adequately fit the 20th century data.

I was also surprised to find Spencer is a big supporter of Intelligent Design. I was initially reticent to mention that, since it seems like an ad hominem.

One of the main reasons I started doing this blogging was because I realized that climate scamsters were going to taint the reputation of all scientists. Now that budget crunch time is here, the whole scientific community will suffer for the sins of the few. NAS and other guilty parties should have done the right thing instead of slopping at the trough.
