Yesterday’s one day trend showed that the Arctic would be ice free on August 1.
Today made a sharp reversal.
I now project that the minimum will be somewhere between six and zero mill. km2

Australia generates about one percent of the world’s CO2, so if Julia can get the country to reduce CO2 emissions by 50%, it seems reasonable to expect a change in temperature of a few thousandths of a degree.
We live in an unprecedented age of stupid.
Australia plans to stabilize the climate through massive taxes, but they haven’t said what CO2 goal they ultimately want to achieve. Maybe they should shoot for a repeat of the year 1900?

An Era of Tornadoes: How Global Warming Causes Wild Winds
JUL 8 2011, 2:35 PM ET11
Destruction in Missouri and elsewhere offers a taste of increasingly extreme weather. Part one in a four-part series on climate change.Too hot, too cold, too rainy, too dry, too windy. The operative word is “too,” and it is the exaggeration of normal weather events that defines the changing climate.
Close to home (for me, at least), Massachusetts towns have been hit with deadly tornadoes. In Joplin, Missouri, hospitalized patients were sucked out of emergency room windows. The consequences will remain with these communities and many others for decades, and the images will stay with all of us.
We need to stop global warming and go back to normal weather – like in 1925
ARTHUR: If you will not show us the Grail, we shall take your castle by force!
GUARD: You don’t frighten us, English pig-dogs! Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, so-called Arthur-king, you and all your silly English kaniggets. Thppppt!

This can’t be true, because Hansen says that warming is unabated.
What a massive flustercluck these people have created. We may well be living through the stupidest moment in human history.

‘‘The Brisbane floods will bevery little compared to a 7-metre sea level rise,’’ Karoly says. Tourist attractions? The Great Barrier Reef will die. There will be no skiing industry in Australia — he says any snow will ‘‘fall and melt’’.
In a recent blog posting, David Spratt, co-author of Climate Code Red, drew the threads together on the implications of 4-degree warming. The world would be warmer than during any part of the period in which modern humans evolved, he wrote, and the rate of climate change would be faster than any previously experienced by humans.
Three degrees may be the ‘‘tipping point’’, leaving us powerless to intervene as planetary temperatures soar and, quoting NASA climate scientist James Hansen, there will be ‘‘no return within the lifetime of any generation that can be imagined, and the trip will exterminate a large fraction of species on the planet’’. Half the world would be uninhabitable. Ocean ecosystems and food chains would collapse.
‘‘And we are talking about how we might adapt to a 4-degree warmer world,’’ Spratt wrote. ‘‘Have we gone mad?’’
Professor Kevin Anderson, director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change in Britain :
‘‘For humanity it’s a matter of life or death … we will not make all human beings extinct, as a few people with the right sort of resources may put themselves in the right parts of the world and survive. But I think it’s extremely unlikely that we wouldn’t have mass death at 4 degrees.
Four degrees warming in Canada would make the place unlivable. Can you imagine winters at -26C instead of -30c?
Back in the days when environmental groups actually cared about the environment.
