The July 7th Olympic Celebration

On July 7, 2005 London was celebrating having been awarded the 2012 Olympics. The London contingent of the Religion Of Peace joined in the celebration that day too.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Yasser Arafat actually started the joyous tradition in 1970, when he murdered the Israeli team at the Olympic Village in Munich.

Time For Alarmists To Put Up Their Money

Ice extent is the lowest on record. PIOMAS shows the thinnest ice on record. NSIDC says temperatures in the Arctic are above normal due to the dipole anomaly.

Can there be any doubt that ice extent will hit a record low this summer – maybe even ice free? Time for alarmists to put their money where their mouth is. All the government supported science stars are lined up perfectly.

Global Warming Now Makes Storms Less Intense

ScienceDaily (July 6, 2011) — Decreasing autumn and winter rainfall over southern Australia has been attributed to a 50-year decrease in the average intensity of storms in the region — a trend which is forecast to continue for another 50 years.

In an address July 7 to the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics conference in Melbourne, CSIRO climate scientist, Dr Jorgen Frederiksen, said these changes are due to reductions in the strength of the mid-latitude jet stream and changes in atmospheric temperatures. The jet stream comprises fast moving westerly winds in the upper atmosphere.

Global Warming Strikes South America Again

One of the driest spots on earth has experienced its heaviest snowfall in almost two decades, according to the Chilean Directorate of Meteorology (DMC).
A cold front brought up to 80 centimetres (31.5 inches) of snow to the Atacama desert region of South America forcing emergency services to close local roads and rescue dozens of motorists from their vehicles.  The temperature in the Chilean capital, Santiago, dropped below minus 8c on Wednesday. Neighbouring Argentina and Uruguay are also experiencing subzero temperatures.

Martinez, CA To Drown

Global Warming Gets Very, Very Local
It’s estimated that downtown Martinez could be underwater in 100 years.

Today is THURSDAY, July 7, 2011. Did you know that in 100 years, it’s estimated that downtown Martinez will be under water? It was news to me, and not everyone believes it, but that was the scenario laid out by Jeremy Lowe of Environmental Science Associates. He was explaining to City Council members on Wednesday why the Bay Conservation and Development Commission, a state agency that regulates conservation and development along the shorelines, might extend its authority beyond its current boundaries. If the sea level rises, so do BCDC’s boundaries, according to an amendment now being discussed by the agency. It’s one of those convoluted issues that involves local, regional and state authority, and according to local attorney and downtown property owner Al Turnbaugh, it represents a BCDC power grab.

Downtown Martinez is about 240 inches above sea level. Over the last one hundred years, sea level rose there less than four inches. No doubt it will accelerate by 6000% sometime next week.
