Brainwashing The Little People

A fifth grader wrote this :

Lately I have heard about global warming and how this affects the weather and the air we breathe. I have heard adults talk about how the weather is changing, and how global warming and climate changes are related. It seems that the climate is changing and that the earth is warming up.

The warming of the earth causes increases in temperatures and decreases the natural habitat of many species. In fact, many species are losing their ability to adapt to the changes in temperatures and we are losing a number of ecosystems. Many agree that climate change may be one of the greatest threats facing the planet.

Extreme rainstorms and snowfalls have become more frequent and this type of weather has often caused deadly flooding and other natural disasters. The change in severity seems to be most apparent in North America where weather instruments are the most reliable, although severe weather is being experienced throughout the globe.

Chris Matthews : Those That Refuse To Get A Tingle Up Their Leg Are Evil

Chris Matthews was somewhat surprised with Al Gore’s harsh critique of President Obama inRolling Stone regarding his inaction on climate policy. Instead Matthews argued that even if Obama has not been perfect, Gore should really be angry at the “corrupt media on the right” who refuse to believe in climate change, not because they are stupid, but because in Matthews’ opinion they are “evil.”

2004 : “Lake Powell is draining away, and environmentalists couldn’t be happier”

Why are environmentalists happy? Because there’s a coal plant that uses water from Lake Powell, and if the lake continues to drain away, the coal plant may be left high and dry.

Lake Powell Water Level Now Highest In The Last 10 Years

http://lakepowell.water-data.com/

Gavin says that the 2004 low was due to global warming (which apparently ended in 2005.)

Our local drainage is only 603% of normal. The bottom line with environmental reporting is to assume that everything they say is intentionally incorrect.

1947 Time Magazine : “The Disappearing Cold”

June 16, 1947

Greenland is getting greener and Iceland’s ice is shrinking. The Arctic is losing its chill.

Retreating Glaciers. Mountain glaciers, “very sensitive to climatic changes,”

In central Norway, Lapland and Greenland, the glaciers have been drawing back their long tongues of ice. Some have disappeared entirely. Icelandic glaciers are yielding up farmland which they have overridden for the last 600 years.

Advancing Fish. In the 19th Century only a few cod were caught off southwestern Greenland. Now they are schooling far north of the Arctic Circle, where grateful Greenlanders and Eskimos are hauling them up by the ton. Many times in geological history, over long periods of years, the ice has piled up in the north and crunched down into the temperate zones.

1992 Time Magazine : “The Ice Age Cometh?”

Jan. 31, 1994

What ever happened to global warming? Scientists have issued apocalyptic warnings for years, claiming that gases from cars, power plants and factories are creating a greenhouse effect that will boost the temperature dangerously over the next 75 years or so. But if last week is any indication of winters to come, it might be more to the point to start worrying about the next Ice Age instead. After all, human-induced warming is still largely theoretical, while ice ages are an established part of the planet’s history. The last one ended about 10,000 years ago; the next one — for there will be a next one — could start tens of thousands of years from now. Or tens of years. Or it may have already started.
