1801 : Thomas Jefferson Worried About Climate Change

Jefferson was worried about declining snow cover, rivers no longer freezing, crop losses due to climate change ….

Great News : Earth Only Doomed For 40,000 Years

Global warming could end sooner then once thought – in 40,000 years time

Earth could recover from global warming faster than scientists once thought – but it will still take tens of thousands of years, new research shows.

I want to know when global warming will start. I’m still freezing my ass off at the end of April.

Telegraph : “Extraordinary” To Provide Your Birth Certificate To Your Employer

Barack Obama releases birth certificate in extraordinary ‘birther’ intervention

President Barack Obama has made an extraordinary intervention to silence “birther” conspiracy theorists, releasing a copy of his original birth certificate which shows definitively that he was born in Hawaii.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/

Most people provide their birth certificate before they are hired – not three years later. What is extraordinary is that he took three years to produce this digitally altered document.

The press is back to their usual crap of parroting Obama without attempting to use their brains.

(Obama has never had a real job, so maybe he didn’t know about the birth certificate expectation.)

We Saw This Coming

http://abcnews.go.com/

Last night I posted this Wednesday night water vapor forecast from NCAR’s WRF weather model.

The convergence of cold dry air and warm moist air will produce violent weather along the frontal boundary.

https://realclimatescience.com/2011/04/26/the-boundary-line/

Note the very large humidity/temperature gradient across the frontal boundary in Alabama. The clash of cold dry air and very warm moist air is deadly.

Romm Revives The MWP

Romm posted his hockey stick projection above. I took the same graph, and removed all the optical illusions.

Bingo – temperatures are no warmer than the 15th century.

Obama’s Document Has Been Digitally Altered

http://www.whitehouse.gov/

Look at the digit ‘1’ on the right side. It is anti-aliased.

Aliasing is a distortion which only appears in digital images. Note that each pixel has a unique shade, whereas the other numbers are all black.

Wikipedia has a description of aliasing here :

What’s Up With The White Space Around The Letters?

The image Obama released today has white space around each letter. The image on the right has all the white space digitally filled in with red.

My birth certificate is below, and it doesn’t have a gap between the text and the green background.

No white space. I can’t think of any physical process which would create that white space.

Bizarre Behaviour at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

“Yes, in fact, I was born in Hawaii, August 4, 1961, in Kapiolani Hospital. Over the last two-and-a-half years I have watched with bemusement, I have been puzzled, to the degree to which this thing just kept growing.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/

Rather than “watching with bemusement,” why didn’t he release this document –  which the governor of Hawaii couldn’t find three months ago?

“The end of the world as we know it”

Many scientists expect that as the planet’s temperature rises, global warming could add even more devastation. ”The current rate and magnitude of climate change are faster and more severe than many species have experienced in their evolutionary history,” says the lead author of the Nature study, Anthony Barnosky.

The Most Water Vapor In 650,000 Years!

Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, cloud forests are drying, and wildlife is scrambling to keep pace. It’s becoming clear that humans have caused most of the past century’s warming by releasing heat-trapping gases as we power our modern lives. Called greenhouse gases, their levels are higher now than in the last 650,000 years.

What will we do to slow this warming? How will we cope with the changes we’ve already set into motion? While we struggle to figure it all out, the face of the Earth as we know it—coasts, forests, farms and snow-capped mountains—hangs in the balance.
