Precipitation and runoff in California’s major river basin will not fall dramatically with climate change, according to a new federal study that shows rising temperatures will have an uneven effect on the West’s water supplies.

A Department of Interior report released Monday agrees with other analyses that have found climate models are better at predicting temperature rises (ROFLMAO) and an accompanying decline in spring snowpack than they are in projecting future precipitation and stream flow levels.

Temperatures could rise 5 degrees to 7 degrees this century (ROFLMAO) , increasing evaporation, and the spring snow pack will drop sharply in much of the West, changing the timing of peak runoff, which is crucial for the state’s irrigated agriculture.

A permanent drought seen for Southwest

The driest periods of the last century — the Dust Bowl of the 1930s and the droughts of the 1950s — may become the norm in the Southwest United States within decades because of global warming, according to a study released Thursday.

The research suggests that the transformation may already be underway. Much of the region has been in a severe drought since 2000, which the study’s analysis of computer climate models shows as the beginning of a long dry period.

Franklin Graham makes a perfectly logical observation and the White House responds with PMS.

Graham, who has met with Obama before, appeared on ABC’s “This Week” and was asked about people like Donald Trump bringing up questions about the president’s birth. “Well, the — the president I know has some issues to deal with here. He can solve this whole birth certificate issue pretty quickly. I don’t — I was born in a hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, and I know that my records are there,” Graham said.

“You can probably even go and find out what room my mother was in when I was born. I don’t know why he can’t produce that. So I’m not — I don’t know. But it’s an issue that looks like he could — he could answer pretty quickly,” he added.

White House response.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said comments by Rev. Franklin Graham that there were issues surrounding President Obama’s birth were “preposterous charges.”

Graham didn’t make any charges. Rather he made a simple and obvious suggestion of how Obama could put an end to the rumours.

One of the densest alarmist claims often made is that shrinking ice is an indication of warming temperatures. Ice melts when the temperature is above freezing. Ice accumulates during ice ages. Ice melts during interglacials.

For the last 8,000 years temperatures have been falling, while sea level has been rising. Is this a paradox? Only if you are a scientific illiterate.
